Really proud of Annette. The South African township landscape is a goldmine of economic opportunities for indigenous locals. The township was Apartheid's design and biggest weapon against black social and economic progress, and we used it as a counter-weapon against them by building social cohesion which gave rise to the freedom struggle across the whole country. It's about time we started using it for our economic advancement as well. Sis Annette is carrying the torch for our generation. The solution to the overwhelming crime in the Townships is bringing economic opportunities home. Thanks Tayo for this feature.

Townships are not slums. Many townships are same as any other suburbs. The difference between township and suburbs is that townshourips were designed for Blacks, and Coloured people, and suburbs were for whites and Indians only. In government terminology, when a new suburb is buid, including gated communities, they refer it as township is established. The planning is the same. In townships,, especially in Gauteng, there are millionairs staying there. Information settlement is when people build shacks next to a townships mostly for work opportunities. Slums are delapidated areas, mostly informational areas. Thank for your informative video.

This is certainly a unique concept. I've never seen a hotel design like this. Usually the focus is on room quantity. This hotel looks like a well thought-through piece of art. I really hope that business will be driven there. All the best.

thanks Tayo for the beautiful content. I wish to lend my voice on the ongoing conversations around using terms like "township" instead of "slums". Although both terms refer to similar if not thesame living conditions. However there is a very negative connotation with using "slums"....the word today almost strips the diginity of those staying in such areas. for instance - broke vs poor - both refers to thesame situation....but one is more dignifying than the other. so, personally this conversation about using the right dignified terms should be centered on humanising padegogy.....knowledge should be empowering.

I cannot like your comment enough. Human dignity is at the core of this whole "debate", Africans have a very long history of indignity, so we are very sensitive to words that even contain a hint of an attempt to strip our dignity away from us. We really cannot perpetuate our own suffering with sensationalism.

She is 💯 correct when she says change of leadership. Liberation movements throughout Africa have destroyed everything that is good about this continent. An we ( South Africa)are no exception. But we will show this lot flares come 2024 elections. Will definitely be coming to her spot Tnx Tayo

She is a great business woman. South Africa is full of inspiring young black entrepreneurs. Great questions from you as well even though we hate the word slum. You did a great job. Glad you are enjoying SA. Well done for making the most of your stay and getting great content.

If Africa must be seen as ready to contribution the good of humanity we must start to think and do things like good human beings who have all the people at heart.
