I really like the psychedelic use of looking inward in Graduation. That's probably one of the few things I enjoyed about that season. Speaking from experience my entire outlook on life has changed since taking several trips. And frankly I believe it changed me for the better.

ok, to be fair, it's not unspecified, festo says it's a mix of LSD, ecstacy, and shrooms. yeah this is one of my least favorite scenes in graduation but the synchronized dance looks really good, and at the morning part it's actually gorgeous this animation is really good

Honestly I absolutely understand why people don't like this scene in the context prior specifically. I think this could have been had without the drugs/substances. Still happy you enjoyed the visuals nontheless :) I kept it at unspecified drug because the mention is not included in the Audio of the video. But you're technically correct :)

I saw the thumbnail and title before I listened to ep. 35 (I believe I was on 33 actually). I didn’t know what to expect, but I had in mind that 35 would have some tearjerker moment… only now do I come back after finishing Grad to find out the thumbnail is the moment before he throws up! So glad this is out! Not only is it another amazing FItzroy Maplecourt animation, but this is a favorite scene of mine for personal reasons as well as it was the scene that inspired my favorite dnd character. well, I love Bingus the Sphynx Cat, obviously. Bingus hasn't managed to reach the top of my Favorite TAZ Graduation Characters, but I understand why they are beloved to many fans. I think media that engages the audience to commit to meta-commentary, be it positive or negative, certainly carries meaning as art.

@@SirisLayer i honestly can’t agree more. TAZ Graduation has a litany of problems, but it’s essential for any DM to listen to. It’s mortifying to hear Travis’s rulings and plot decisions, he could very well be any of us. No other show has the capacity to teach us what not to do quite like this one.

@@NaN-Gram I agree that Graduation is not perfect, but the mistakes in DMing if anything made me nostalgic for my time at uni and I feel positive about it. I recognise them but they're not buzzkills for me. I listened to this Arc after it fully released and I enjoyed it a lot. I love Graduation wholeheartedly, even with its flaws in place. I enjoyed listened to it and it helped me through a very stressful time of my life (together with Ethersea). One of my favorite things is change and growth and I think it can be observed throughout all of TAZ, including Graduation. I would not be pouring months of work into these videos, if I thought Travis' DMing was awful and irredeemable, or that TAZ Grad was terrible. I love Graduation. Be weary of the people who never seem to make mistakes. I find those more unsettling, than any imperfection in a DnD podcast.

honestly, i havent finished graduation bc there were a couple episodes that i thought went slow, so i missed the climax but i got within like 5eps i think??? (?) and as someone who doesnt dm but does play d&d & also loves stories, i wasnt always happy with the way travis ran things but tbh i think he gets too much flak sometimes. i plan on finishing it, life just got in the way. idk, i thought the story was interesting. maybe i have been able to overlook its faults bc the way the storytelling was done was so different than what i normally consume? and there were a lot of fun characters
