Just bought a bumblebee goby and this is the first video I've looked up. I'm only 15 seconds in and I wanted to pause to comment how much I LOVE your tank!!

Wow that's amazing, coincidentally my area is near the coast and there are still a lot of mangroves here. I always see mudskipper always jumping from mud to mangrove wood. But the mudskipper here looks different they have a blue spot pattern and a wider dorsal fin. I think the type is often called the blue spot mudskipper.

i got mini puffer fish with bumble bee goby in a tank and the puffer fish lay eggs in sand before, they go well together.

I just bought some of these fish today and was told that they were completely freshwater so now I'm just really worried about the fish cause I have no idea about brackish water or anything like it I even said I didn't know any gobys were freshwater and they told me they would be fine in my 20 long with my guppys and shrimp

These are on my Most Wanted list, along with clown killifish and kuhli loaches. Which I just realized are all striped. 😅Well, I do like stripes, especially plaid... I'd put them in my platy/molly tank, but I have a female betta in there so I'm not going to go brackish. I also have a ton of fry right now, I'm broke, and I'm having problems with financial aid, so I have to put getting new fish on hold...😢

I have a figure 8 puffer in a brackish tank (around 1.008 sg) and I tried putting some endler fry in the tank to see if he'd eat them but after a couple days they were still all there. i was thinking maybe I should put some bumble bee goby fish in there with him for company - I thought he was more aggressive because he eats any culled neocaridina (but he sometimes lets them live for awhile before eating them). I have a 20 long - think the gobys will be ok?

Did you know recent science has discovered Mudskippers are not in the Goby family? They are in a separate family all on their own. Check out Animalogic on KZbin. They have an interesting video on Mudskippers.

I do love these little guys so much, I have raised one bumblebee goby alone since a baby, I am worried about putting him with others. Do you think that he will be okay with my guppies? I dont want my goby getting eaten. I would be devastated. I keep my water 78-80°F and live brine shrimp as well as frozen brine feedings daily.

I really like these little fish! They are cute as heck, look like ahhh man trying to think of the kids....Our Gang! Back in the day when Bullies and prisoners wore stripes 😝😝. Looking really Good zenzo, you have a nice touch when it comes to mixing interesting species safely together. You have been an inspiration to me though I suspect you are twenty years my junior, who says you can't teach old school new tricks?? Mudskippers have really brought out the creative side of you. I have a question: brackish water I understand but could these fish and mudskippers do well in freshwater? Brackish water is not always in the same area that's why I wonder, do they need the bit of salt to survive?? I really like the tank. Have a very nice day All.

The Indian mudskippers will not eat them, only the Africans. I have a video that’s coming out tomorrow that goes into detail about this.

I’ve always heard it’s not good to put brackish water fish in freshwater I’ve never had brackish water but I’ve had plenty of brackish water fish I have super hard water and they seem to thrive💯🐠❤️🔥

Your hard water probably helps, as it often has a lot of the minerals and dissolved solids found in brackish environments.

@@thebuzz2010 I got mine to eat frozen shrimp i bought at a grocery store, I cut tiny tiny little pieces and literally hold it in front of their face for them to see it. They will not eat flakes or any dried foods. Idk how he say's they'll eat flakes

There are many different fish called "bumblebee gobies". Some can live in pure fresh water with no health issues, but most can only survive freshwater for about half of their lifespan. I've heard they prefer harder water.

They don’t look as interesting as you make them sound, they camouflage pretty well with the rocks and substrates but maybe with more of them in the water and if you can get them to spawn that would be pretty kl.. but whatever keep enjoying them. I love your tanks!
