Got one yesterday just because I saw that we can actually use it now. What a beast, it sounds full as fuck and the effects are really powerful, IDK why. I'm mapping the plugin to 2 midi fighter twister, now it's one of the most disgusting and weird acid synths in history. Actually competing with the DB-01 (analog) and even wining at many things! Dope robot the saint 🙇‍♂🤖

What a pleasure it is to use your lovely panel, Sir! Just takes the TD3 into a new broader dimension :) It's almost as if I'd like to design an additional touch screen for the thing with this panel embedded in it so I wouldn't have to bring my computer around... Or try and design a storage chip to save the panel states into the unit... I have four other clones (TD3, TD3MO, MAM MB33, MAMMB33 FM MOD) but now the TB3 has the clearest and widest range of sound (wish the filter cutoff could go all the way to 0 though). Again, thank you so much for this, millions of hours of fun to come for this!

I'm very happy to share this software with everyone because I had the exact experience you had when I discovered all the hidden stuff. Maybe you could use an iPad or other tablet so you could kinda have a second touchscreen that way? For live control I just map stuff I want to modulate to the mod sources and then plug it into my laptop if I have to do something else.

Bad Gear got me to buy one and now he got me to install this. Yeah wow just the various distortion types alone is great. Making stuff at like 40bpm sounding like robots. Wasn't too difficult. BTW default is MIDI channel 2.

@@unbekannterinterpret Pad Z is an on/off modulation switch built into the touchpad that you activate by pushing down on the pad. As long as you hold enough pressure on it, it will stay active, but when you release the pressure, it will return to normal. The amount of pressure it takes to activate it is set in the global startup settings, the default is 3 which is kinda low IMO. (doperobot.com/TB-3%20front%20panel%20guide1.02.html#touchpad%20sensitivity) I usually use it as a switch for distortion or ring mod while in XY PLAY mode, but it is also functional when in KEYBOARD mode whereas the XY mod sources aren't. And thanks, enjoy! It totally changed the machine for me too!

@@unbekannterinterpret Not that I know of other than the TB-3 fb group. Maybe you can start one? Or aren't there some sites where you can upload synth patches to? Yeah and with the pitch shifter effect and osc tune section you can basically turn one note into 5 or more. It's cool you caught those features!

@@novalogue I don't know but if it's possible it would probably take a long process of basic research to name and document the functionality in sysex. In my experience Roland does make their devices with full midi control, they just don't document it well or at all.

@@dope_robot I just asked myself if it would be possible to change synth engines - for example putting the boutique ones into the system 1 (for example the jp08) or into the TB-3 and so on What if seens they have a lot in common regarding their hardware

@@novalogue there are some things in common feature-wise across different parts of the aira range yes, but implementation would be different, even if only slightly. the only reason TB3 has a full editor is because we reverse-engineered an undocumented sysex interface.

I have a TB-3 with ableton live 10 suite and your tb-3 editor software, however I can't "map" the tb-3 editor macros. (I press "configure" but nothing happens when I touch the buttons of the tb-3 editor). Thank you for your fantastic software and the help you will give to my request.

You need to use the vst to map parameter changes, not the front panel ... If i understand you

Looks amazing! But is there a "how to setup" pdf or similar? Brings up panel and vst but doesn't succeed properly with midi I guess. Only get sad smileys :(

Just needed to factory reset the unit and remeber to switch the pattern lock to off, at least 15 slots to put some tweaked presets ready :)

Stop the sequencer, hold down ENV MOD and move the value knob to choose, and start/stop to confirm (doperobot.com/TB-3%20front%20panel%20guide1.02.html#save%20a%20pattern) All the information that exists for this machine I have collected at doperobot.com/tb3 . There is a front panel guide pdf document (doperobot.com/TB-3%20front%20panel%20guide1.02.pdf) there as well as the html version linked to above which should have all the answers to your front panel questions.

Hey , i can not open the Editor...after Installation the Standalone its open only a empty Panel and can doing nothing ...whats wrong ? ✌...my TB-3 works fine with Ableton...but can not open the Editor ?

If there is only an empty panel, perhaps you haven't opened the custom TB-3 panel included in the bundle. Not sure how it would work in Ableton without the panel tho. Can you give some more info if loading the panel doesn't solve your issue?

Is it possible to externally sequence slides on the tb-3? For instance if I wanted to put in notes and add my own slides and accents in an external sequencer that could handle patterns longer than 32 steps would that be possible?

Yes, just record your notes, gates, and slides to external sequencer. Then go to an empty pattern and play from external. You may also want to stop TB-3 internal sequencer or stop sending it clock so that it plays back properly.

Is there a midi cc for slides? I’ve heard of using overlapping notes to create slides but some people have said it doesn’t sound the same as toggling the slide parameter.

I downloaded CTRLR PROGRAM setting TB3 IN and out on channels. Firmware is 1.,10. Midi cable also between TB3 and PC. Unfortunately, there is not any graphic of editor panel( in green and black color ) like in this movie. Can somebody help me with that?

open the .panel or .bpanelz file from within CTRLR, they're in the zip file. the .bpanelz file also includes the custom font. if i'm understanding your correctly

Midi track pointed to TB-3 driver, audio track set to CTRLR, then in the panel settings set input & output device to TB-3 CTRL--works for me. Make sure input and output to plugin host is enabled here too.

How very typical of Roland; a wall of needlessly buried parameters, no official editor for sounds. I'm very surprised at the amount of options under the hood, being able to use a compressor, EQ, and pick the distortion sounds extremely helpful as I use an Octatrack. There are very limited effect slots and I have to waste them on things like compressor. Damn, even able to make custom X/Y pad assignments, that's super useful for live.
