Socata TB10 G-IANC has finished in maintenance so we take a short VFR flight to North Weald (EGSX) from Thruxton (EGHO) to get some lunch and take a look around.
North Weald airfield has existed since 1916 and was an important fighter station during the Battle of Britain. Today it is a very friendly GA airfield with two nice cafes and plenty of different aircraft types to see.
A lot of the flight was below the London TMA on a nice day during the weekend, so keep a good lookout for other aircraft was important. We also have a SkyEcho ADSB receiver which depicts other broadcasting traffic onto the Electronic Flight Books (ipad) int he cockpit.
Aircraft is a 1980 Socata TB10 upgraded with Garmin avionics including dual GI275's, GPS175, GNC255 and a JPI EDM 830 engine monitor.
