Nice vid make and great build. I wouldn't necessarily say the tb's are under rated, It's obvious a big petrol 6 will make power. The only reason the tb's are second best is because the td is more than adequate and cheaper to run. Tb's are good cheap thills besides running cost where as td's are good for travelling or daily work bus towing a trailer. It is worth noting the most fun i have had in a patrol was in my previous tb42 with a gtx3076. Now I drive a td with gtx2867 for towing. Not as much power but still alot more than it needs.

Totally your opinion mate, I have an opposing opinion for many reason. Cheers
@phukup874 жыл бұрын
@@DanielKistler hey mate I'm curious on your opposing opinion. I'm not poking, just genuinely curious. Cheers
@DanielKistler4 жыл бұрын
phukup87 it’s honestly just about personal preference. The reliability and economy I get out of this, aswell we the power is just absolutely perfect for me. It has a heap of bottom end power which is great for general driving. I’d be more than happy to take this through the Simpson desert. They are underrated because no one has a good crack with them they just prefer to put an LS In and gain zero benefits and loose power, or a TD and loose a heap of power for far more cost and in my opinion less reliability (engine only) also for something that your tripling/quadrupling the power of they still remain reliable which is great. Don’t get me wrong I love a TD aswell, and they do serve their purpose for sure. But if compare power to cost to reliability a TB will win every time. If you include the cost of the engine it’s far easier to get a bang for buck set up for a TB that will last forever. They don’t have heating issues and they don’t have crank issues. Horses for courses though, and for me personally I can’t really see the point of having any other set up. Again just my opinion and how I’d prefer my cars set up and why I believe they are under rated. Cheers mate
@phukup874 жыл бұрын
@@DanielKistler I can't argue with that. You have a good formula worked out that's for sure petrol makes good power, combine that with a heavy rotating assembly and large capacity gives you the best of both worlds. I have learn from other people's mistakes and run my td around 700nm wich is 50-100 under the two piece crank threshold and i run a higher AR than what is common wich allows me to retard my timing and move some heat/pressure into my manifold and avoid bottle necking at higher rpm avoiding high engine and egt temps. Work perfect when i'm travelling over my gross combo. That being said I am building a gq ute for play and I'm pulling the td out.
@DanielKistler4 жыл бұрын
phukup87 sounds like you’ve also got it figured out! Like I said horses for courses, it’s all really personal preference and I do like a good TD! Cheers
