Save yourself some time: You NEED Kurenai Rep in order to buy Recipe: Blackened Trout. YOU CAN NOT start working on Kurenai rep till level 62. So, you will need to get to 310 cooking some other way. Old world recipes should do it. Sand worm meat from Silithis is one.

I didn't fish i grined eggs till I got clams grinded crabs for clams and crawler meat then spiders and turtle soup grinded alot of turtles cause I'm a skinner then it was tanneris grinden the bones for dogs birds to get eggs and steak.

Get the recipe 'Savory Deviate Delight' and fish up Deviate Fish in the Barrens. Those sell very quickly. However you really shouldn't worry about gold that early on. Good luck!

By 23 you easily can have 1k or more in gold just fishing and herbing in the Barrens on a PvP server. I started at 17 running the coastline to DustWallow and leveling while doing this. On a PvE it will be slower. Get you a alchemy toon make Free action, Swiftness, water breathing, others. Sell your clam meat drops and stranglekelp.

One thing I hated about classic cooking was that there wasn’t any real end game good or water. There is one real water recipe (goldthorn tea) and nothing else Hopefully it’s more fleshed out in TBC

Umm have you played classic at all? Every rogue, hunter, and some others use winter squid which is a max level fish. And healers like the summer fish. Very important and good gold farm.

I disagree. I have cooking maxed out on all chars. Fishing though. Only a few. However I have it on all chars since there are some quests along the way that needs it and you just need to get to lvl 100 and that's not a problem. While waiting for your raid to start. Just fish in Orgrimmar or Stormwind or just do it for 10 minutes when you log in. You will eventually get there.
