Thank you, good sir. I gather it's speculation but I'd love a new Avenger, I can't deny it. She was the first GOOD ship I bought for zen (I'd previously bought the Jupiter carrier because it was the new ship out at the time and I liked the look of it -- and I was utterly clueless about what makes a good ship). For quite a few years, my Feds all flew Avengers while my Marauders all flew Chel Boalgs. Ahhh, good times.

My only issue with the avenger line (asides from how they don't look great, especially the T6, that thing is ugly) is that the inquiry ended up in that family, denying that ship it's true scale as it should be bigger than it currently is.

@@adambrown6669 Yes, the Arbiter is ugly. But the Avenger? Lovely looking little brute. And I really love the Inquiry design because it resembles my all-time favourite ship: The Intrepid class (Voyager). I'm guessing you're a Constitution kind of guy...

@ryananon779 the constitution is cool, I like the inquiry with the better (not grille) deflector, the avenger is not the worst thing ever but it's pylons and overall chunky nature is off-putting. I enjoy the more shapely sleek ships like the Sovereign, Nova, Steamrunner, NX, Akira, Con III, Duderstadt, norway, Excelsior (Excelsior is very sexy) Basically traditional looking trek ships are my kind of ship, a great deal of STO made designs have one or more undesirable traits, like ugly nacelles, weird meshed shapes or like the arbiter, boxy clunky designs.

I like the Star Trek event in World of Warships, although the pricing is a bit more predatory than even STOs, at least in my opinion. 140 [insert currency] for a couple of captains, the camouflages and basically research boosts for the ships, at least those that can be researched. In STO you get more for that kind of money.

It's not a thing, no need to wait to grab Legendary Avenger. Legendary ships do not get skins from variants released after the Legendary, so that wouldn't change regardless of when you bought it.

(Not because it's the inquiry but because the inquiry is improperly scaled as a result) So technically we have T5 avenger T6 arbiter T6 promo inquiry T6 legendary battlecruiser And if we get another addition, we'll have 5. Not sure what it could be though... Perhaps a TOS or TMP era thing, maybe even the Yorktown class from Enterprise era star trek legacy if we get some love for that game brought around, hull weave would make sense there because Yorktown class ships originally lacked shielding.

Buying a Lifetime with STO's current state of game & uncertain future seems a bit risky to me. Besides the Lifetime's perks needs readjusting to be relevant with today's times. I don't play WoWarships but that Star Trek crossover looks cool. I would've thought though that a D'deridex themed ship should've been bigger than a To'duj themed ship. What??? Dont, those are skins for ships and WoWS is primary a PvP game ... Yamato is the Tier X IJN meaning you would have to go the entire IJN BB line to get to her and Salem is a Tier X *Premium* USN CA meaning you would have to ... Salem is Coal I believe and I dont think they even sell it directly.

@@chadwickmccarty4944 Well the event is entirely PVE, but yeah the game itself is pretty much all PvP. The reason for the romulan ship being smaller is, at least that's my guess, because it is sitting on a Destroyer, which means it relies on torpedos, which would be very romulan.

The voices and skins in wow definitely get me NOT into the game... Worst Star Trek push next to the German soup advertisement in the Heyne Star Trek books of the 1990's/2000's where they just rewrote passages of the story for the advertisement partners and Kirk and Co suddenly ate German canned soup... Heck I'm sure I could build more Star Trek looking ships in Fallout 4 or 76... Slapping two warp nacelles onto a aircraft carrier doesn't make it Trek. If so I would glue two nacelles to a hippo and call it canon. Hope Deca picks up soon and will drastically increase the communication at least to a level like Cryptic and Kell did. Still not sure how I feel about all this, on one hand their investment seems promising but clearly they did not use the opportunity to get the community on their side and that's often not a good sign. Yes cross communication between companies is difficult but it's possible and if I can manage to interact with people in the US on a regular basis from Germany a freaking company should be able to do so too. If they don't get much done I hope that they at least get a bit on the German translation done. It's not as bad as other games and I don't mind the original VA work, I really like them but finding non sensical, missing, or non translated descriptions is always a pita, as much as half German half English sentences.

The thing is most players have never experianced something like this. A year is actually not even that much time for something as complex as moving an IP with an important license from one legal system (US) to another (Germany) AND building a new team around all that. And yes, the legal department would drop dead, if someone would have started talking while this is all running. wha??? this situation had nothing to do with cryptic. STO and their other games were never expected to be running for over 10 years. They are a tiny company and only had 30 full time staff working on STO. For a game that's I think 14 years old now it is in pretty good shape. I think you have unrealistic expectations. They aren't a triple AAA gaming company. They are a very small fish in a very big pond. DECA taking over has nothing to do with how Cryptic ran the game but everything to do with saving money and the corporate restructuring of the parent company. Don't expect DECA to do much better. They will be under a lot of pressure to turn a profit since they are investing a lot of money into running STO.

@@stankyyboi This is untrue, DECA is based in Germany and most people at Cryptic didnt want to work with DECA, Cryptic been remote since the great 2019 cough (since I can use that word in YT), reason why Cryptic games moved to DECA seems that is because they are going to fold the company entirely, I wont blame them because not of STO but rather the crapshow that was the Magic Legends game that got canned after years of development in Beta, they seem to be working on another game but likely their pitch failed. In a way yes, if Cryptic didnt failed spectacularly with Magic:Legends things wouldnt be the way they are today, lets not pretend otherwise and blame the mean old corporation.

@@drakron I can't blame this on a game failing, they had been changed hands through several publishers over the years and their latest parent company has been hemorrhaging for over a year, I'm just glad they survived it as long as they did. As for not wanting to work with deca, I think between the vast time differential working at the same time as the people in Germany, the amount of money the American staff was being paid here vs people over there that can do the same job at the same quality was the deciding factor. No likes or dislikes to it.
