At first I thought its pretty neat to have a skating ramp in your own yard, then I remember you're in California so it made total sense to have ramp in your own home. Your kids can learn from the easy ramps and you can keep an eye on them. So when they grow up they can brave the other skating parks around the city. Also, massive bragging rights when your kids go to school, they can say "hey I have a ramp at home you guys wanna come over to practice skateboards?". Very nice! We built a 5 ft mini ramp in my backyard in 89. Luckily for us they were building a huge Chase bank a few blocks away so they financed all the wood and screws/nails for us unbeknownst to them!

Not a bad way to spend $4,000-$5,000. Especially with the whole family being involved. When my son gets a little older, this will be a fun project. Planning on a smaller indoor garage build. Roughly around $2,000. Eventually can build another larger half next to it.

Is there such thing as weather lamination for rain water? I had one built for me when I was a kid and remember it getting ruined by the rain. A concrete one would be even better; would probably be a lot of concrete though. Awesome job! Building this one!

Pretty sick ramp! One consideration (or maybe this is addressed somewhere) ~ how does humidity leave from under the ramp or is it sort of trapped there? Wonder if adding a small vent on either side towards the top of the ramp would help? (I am thinking stinky / moldy pads, helmets, and warped board prevention)
