Don't you love it when things fall into place? Wonderful job. And I didn't expect it to remain a planter, so that's bonus points.

I used to work with concrete (mostly sidewalks and driveways) and I used to hate it, but I've been seeing so many DIY concrete ramp videos lately that I kind of want to buy a couple bags and just start playing with it.

fuck, your making me feel guilty now. lol I have so much experience with concrete, my grand father owned his own company. I grew up working summers with him since young, I need to build some DIY stuff around my area. Problem is I live in a really privately owned city with a lot of Karen's lol and no one skates so id stand out if anyone saw me building shit. I cleaned a ditch out once to skate it and like people were filming me clean it and called the cops.

you would know not to drill the holes in your footer 1/16th bigger then your rebar put expoxy in there and call it good at least

this is literal art. like maybe im trippin but the juxtaposition of new plant life being at risk of being crushed and permanatley damaged at the hand of a human pasttime. These plants will grow to be whoever shapes them with every fall or misstep. Also it just looks really sick cause it matches ur pool and flows well with ur patio I dig this sm

Awesome video. Great music choice -- nice and relaxing, while I sit back and try to learn. Recently build a wooden mini ramp in my yard, but have been curious about working with concrete. Very intimidating -- looks like a lot of very hard work!

Awesome job dude. Nice team effort on the float/trowel work for the transition. Always interesting seeing how things are tackled & constructed a bit differently between you guys in the US, & us here in the UK. Can't say I've ever seen a circular saw (skil saw) used for concrete cutting. It's always electric angle grinders or petrol disc cutters used here. Also, we tend to use solid concrete blocks, & concrete is mixed from grit sand, stone, & cement separately as opposed to ready to go concrete dry mix in a large bags (they are available, but just too costly).

Did u use mortar then some sorta thinset on the top tile pieces? Or did u use some sorta patcher/thinset and then tile glue? I used this Mapei concrete patcher on the top and bottom of my ramp thats like Ardex or Henerys, its like a waterbased bondo that dries more like concrete! It comes in a powder and then just add water.
