I Went to Tbilisi in 2006, it was ok but fairly old looking and poor people begging in the streets after coming out of communiism , and it needed investment especially in infrastructure, it was like a new contry then , but much better now i believe, girls were gorgeous and some nice places to see, orthodox christian religion very strong , liked churches, people not bad , people there hated the Russians, good value for money for westerners

Hi. I wondered how much Georgian language I will need in Tbilisi. I would like to learn enough to be polite and respectful anyway but is English understood and spoken to some extent there? Thanks. Great tour and video!
@CherryDreamer96 Жыл бұрын
My husband (Russian speaker) and I spent a month in Tblisi, actually its where we got married and language situation is a bit tricky. I'm sure locals would be delighted if you could speak some Georgian, but in the main city it is not the expectation. We found that most people spoke Georgian and Russian but due to political tensions (tbh alot of Russophobia) People are hesitant to speak it. So they prefer conversing in English despite having limited vocabulary which is challenging. Resturant menus and shop signs tended to be in Georgian or Russian.
