There is a reason why Nomad Capitalist doesn't review this city. Nobody speaks English. Batumi is great in winter, but in summer, loud music is everywhere. No laws can protect you from very fast drivers who never stop, even at pedestrian crossings. Grocery stores can cheat you by adding items to your receipt that you didn't buy, especially Spar and Daily. If you live just one block from the center, in the airport area, you won't find a good meat store, nobody makes keys (you have to drive 5 miles to old Batumi), there isn't a single fast food place with normal meat, and no hot bread If you buy an item and it breaks, you can't return it to the shop Taxi drivers are often rude, and there is no good taxi service. If you have luggage, a dog, or any specific request like driving to multiple points, forget it: they won't wait for you and will drive around without you just to spend money on your credit card (I'm talking about Bolt, and yes, you can't complain to the company because they ignore you, even if the driver was aggressive) Be careful with these things: the city is unsafe in terms of scams and traffic, both on the roads and at the beach, and the road infrastructure isn't ready for so many people The beach has no sand; it's made of rocks. The city is full of homeless dogs. Every square meter of the city is filled with noise and chaos, unlike the spacious Tbilisi. Orbi is a scam: you can't open the door with your keys, and hotel cards expire every week - buy or rent anything but not that crappy Orbi. I lost an elevator card during my long-term apartment rent and had to walk to the 14th floor for 2 months - they didn't replace the card, so I had to steal one from another apartment on Booking

I lived in Tbilisi for 8 months and left, this city is not for me. Here is why: There are quite a lot of problems with language barrier, comfort of streets from pedestrian point of view, cuisine aside of national one, climate (1000m height + very hot summers), services are not perfect at all, and even banks can surprise you from the bad side. Although, probably after some level of income you change perception of a country because you can afford to only communicate, live and experience the very best parts of it. I was not at this level with 2000$/mo. Don't get me wrong, Georgians are generally very nice people, it's just Tbilisi I lived in and Tbilisi in this video are two different cities.

Have you heard what is Sobriety? Quit cold turkey, go on a fast with water and leafy greens for a week, and cool showers.

If only I could read or speak that language. Generally I pick up the fundamentals of languages but Georgian would require a class. Will AI and LLMs be useful for startup opportunities? Tblisi is very cool, has charm, and Georgians are unpretentious. Barberestan deserves more recognition and is a cultural treasure. Wine! Great hiking and more. Definitely a place to live like a King!

Ive been there two years ago. It's a beautiful country with a breathtaking nature and delicious food. BUT... the employees at any business I've been to had basically zero understanding of customer service/ satisfaction. Sometimes arrogant, sometimes unfriendly people. People on the streets were the opposite, very friendly and kind hearted to help some tourist to get around. Definitely gonna visit again, but have my reservations. Oh, and if you don't want to catch pneumonia don't sit in front of the AC inside a bus going up Mt. Kazbegi.

There you have it. I get the same feeling in Batumi, Georgia. Likewise Bulgaria has a great friendly people, but service sucks. If you don't expect smiles in Georgia, I think you will generally not be disappointed. Because they do their job, generally.

@@fjorddenierbear4832 Batumi and Tbilisi have very different vibes though. Was in Batumi 3 nights and was so keen to get the train back to Tbilisi we neded up cutting the trip short on the black sea

Same here - very important nowadays. Otherwise this marvelous small nation would be in some useless and helpless war that's not even its own. Ukraine is an example where such law could not have been passed on time.

This is not the FARA law, this will just turn Georgia into another Belarus, being Ukraine is bad, but being Belarus is worse

Sounds fabulous. My main concern about the country is its location. I wonder if Mr Putin finds this country’s wealth tempting.

I agree with you. It's really sad that when we look at the pros and cons of Georgia, we have to consider their location, being that they are next door to Russia. I would still live there (Georgia) but Russia is really my only concern. I'm not worried about anything else.

Glad to hear you don’t smoke Andrew, my mother smoked quite a lot every day, and she didn’t live as long as her mother not even near as long !! As for wine drunk in moderation and with a meal and , a glass of water with it for hydration, I believe it leads to good health

It's great to see that Georgia is on the path to reconciliation with Russia (you can't chose your neighbors, after-all). And the NGO laws are a big positive. Big future ahead for Georgia. Love this video format btw.

Can you make a video on the luxury services you use when you travel to these locations and how to get them set up seamlessly? For example, services you use to secure an S-Class with a driver around the city or locating English speaking contractors to renovate properties? I am traveling to Georgia soon to establish bank accounts, etc and want to create a network of local services when I arrive so I can travel around like you for day-to-day duties.

Georgia has also a relatively high GDP growth. If the middle corridor - linking China to Europe through the Caucasus- materialized, Georgia will be in an even more advantageous situation.
