Tbilisi is a fantastic city. Just avoid the asshole tourist traps around Peace bridge, Europa Park and Mother of Georgia. They are aggressive and will force you to buy or take a photos with them just to charge you. . So just say no keep going forward.

So true! few days back I came back from Georgia. Beautiful country indeed. I also met two guys near the Leghvtakhevi Waterfall they were supper agressive and wanted to make money. They insisted to take a picture with them and asked 200GEL and not allow me to leave. but I ended up paying 40 GEL and ran from the place. So be careful with these people

went to Georgia. It's a nice country and the local are very friendly. However there is health issue that many people are not aware of it. Years ago Independent scientists and doctors conducted an study on infections illness. The country has more than 1000 stray dogs in the 3 biggest cities: Tbilisi, Batumi, and Kutasi . These animals have many kind of dangerous parasitic infections. Many times the person sick doesn't have any symptom. According to the doctors the percentage of people infected is very high, making an endemic situation. Tourist need to be careful when eating out in restaurant . Since the standards of most developing countries are many times no the best to avoid infections. The independent scientists reported to the authority about the problem, but it looks like nothing was done .

it is important to note that the country has made significant efforts to address this issue in recent years.

@@michaell609 I went to Batumi, and I didn't see any improvements, in the stray dogs issue. In fact You can't walk on the sidewalk of any street for 30seconds before you encounter a pile of dogs poop. One way of solving the problem is to sell all those dogs to the people of Thailand. They are number one consumer of dogs meat in the world.
@healingnarcissism_ Жыл бұрын
wow incredible information.... I feel the same as you and that's the main reason I don't travel is that animals aren't on the streets everywhere this is a real issue. people have a problem with humans eating dogs, not realizing each culture has it's own perspective on good and bad animals for consumption (pigs and cows) for example. I did not know this about Thailand... it is a human cruelty to allow uncontrolled population of animals and perpetuates suffering for everyone, those who see it, or are directly affected. I don't like unpredictable dogs and it's sad that they're in that position mostly due to humans not managing populations. prevention is ideal very complex controversial subject @@edenjeager6081

Tbilisi has a lot of scammers and robbers, I dont recommend it at all. It is similar level to India. Tourists should be cautious and also the police dont care if you get robbed or scammed. Georgia reputation is going down hard.
