That thing sounds very very good. I like the way he fly's it-the way it was intended. That WWII plane was built to be a ruffian of the sky-and not treated like a poodle. Look at the power that thing has on the climb! Oh, I just noticed the FOUR bladed prop. It's no wonder its climbs like a bat out of hell.

Mister Poker Face "Dean" doesn't seem too impressed. Is there going to be a second date after all this preparation? I thought he might break down and grin for dear old dad and his camera. The plane looked fabulous and I do hope he is pleased. Thanks for sharing Pete. Jim

Gorgeous! Did you use another plane as a test bed for the engine to break it in before mounting to the p47?

no marshall, came back from the factory rebuilt (now almost a new engine) we bolted it into the P-47 run it 4 times for around 5 mins on the ground then test flew it in this video, we have temperature sensors on the cylinder heads to keep an eye on the running temps
