To what i can find, the issue may be to a faulty dsound.dll file. There is no fix for this at the moment.

The New Tboi update might have broken the mods as of recently. Though I myself have not had the fortune of testing Repentogon with Repentence +.

When I download it my antivirus says It's an unsafe file and instantly puts it in quarantine. When I disable it, it says "Virus scan failed" :/ Any idea on how to fix this?

From what I could fine, this seems to be the most used answer: Step 1. Press Windows + R keys at the same time Step 2. Type “regedit” and hit ok. Now you will get the registry editor window. Step 3. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >SOFTWARE >Microsoft >Windows >CurrentVersion >Policies >Attachments by expanding the folder tree. Step 4. Now double-click on the “ScanWithAntivirus” registry key and change its value to “1” which is by default “3“. Changing the key value to “1” actually, instruct the browser not to scan the downloaded program or files. That should fix it. Though i am unsure how safe this is, as i have not tested it myself, this seems to be the most common answer/fix for this issue

It may be other mods that could be causing the issue, but repentogon is a new mod so it may not function to the best of its ability

From i can see on the Repentogon FAQ page, you may need to add WINEDLLOVERRIDES=dsound=n,b %command% as a launch option in order to make the game load their DLL. I'm not 100% sure on how you would do so, but that is what the web page says to do.

You also need to unsubscribe from the Steam mod for Repentogon

Hey, I know it's not your job, and I hope I'm not too much of a bother, but if you could help I'd really appreciate it. I got the installer and moved it to the Isaac files, but when I click on the actual installer nothing happens, even when I click "run as administrator". I dont think its any firewall as I found a way to disable them (and they havent affected me yet). But I cant find any way to fix this, and it doesn't seem like anyone else had this problem.

1. What type of device are you using; The method used in this video is for Windows 10/11 2.Does your Copy of "The Binding of Isaac" have all the necessary DLC's [Afterbirth, Afterbirth +, and Repentence], as Repentogon only works when using all DLC's

Most mods I get for repentogon are from the steam workshop. They work just the same as other mods from the workshop do. You can tell if repentogon is working if you look at the name of the application in windowed mode. You can also tell if it's enabled if repentogon is visible on the title screen for isaac

Hello! when i tried downloading it and when it did my built-in Antivirus put it on quarantine after i took it off of quarantine it put it back on as straight as i put it in my isaac files, after that i tried running the file and it said that it was a unwanted file or was a virus so it wouldn't let me run it, after that it put it on quarantine again and removed the file entirely. EDIT: im now doing it the steam mods way and i dont know what it means by "Extract the contents of REPENTOGON .zip to the game's folder." Could you help?

@Zodabruh The Contents of the ZIP Folder are from the website itself. It for some reason always appears as a virus despite it not being one. It is recommended to disable your anti-virus for the installation of Repentogon. The zip contains around 3 files [going of memory] just Unzip the ZIP Folder, and drag these over to your The Binding of Isaac folder. Steps for what to do after are in the video.

Whenever Repentogon needs an update, a pop up will show before loading the game. Simply click "Update", and repentogon will update and relaunch your game.

By going to the "REPENTOGONUpdater" file in your "The Binding of Isaac Rebirth" folder, double clicking it will bring up a menu. In the menu, you can choose to Update Repentogon or Uninstall Repentogon.

@Eggie-JusticeForEgg what do you mean? Repentogon shows up as a virus due to the methods it uses to edit files and run certain commands, but it is not a virus itself. To delete, simply right click it and delete, or move it to your recycling bin.

im honestly not too sure. From what ive seen its possible because the files should be the same, but it'll be a bit more difficult. Mods seem to be harder to get for it due to most mods being on steam.
