Fun fact about the spear from ragnarok: You can actually syphon elements from enemies and bosses to deal elemental damage and gives you a 10 second resistance for it. And I don’t mean just usual elements like poison or fire. I’m talking about EVERY TYPE. Especially the asgards/bi frost users.

Personally, I would love to see you rank all the GOW bosses. You explain things very thoroughly and in such great detail like you demonstrated with this ranking, and since bosses are a core part of the GOW series, I think it would make for a very interesting and insightful video. Sure, it's been done before, but I have a feeling yours would be one of the better ones. No offence to any other GOW boss ranking video on KZbin, they're all great in their own way, but you've definitely got what it takes to add your own flare to it and make it stand out. In gow 3, the boots of Hermes, apart from giving you the ability to run towards enemies and launch them in the air, it also allows you to dash mid air, which I found very useful

I love the Draupnir spear i used that shit almost exclusively once i got it i beat all the barbarians with it and the valkery queen it has very quick attacks has the lowest damage of the 3 but the fastest hit rate and you can interrupt any of your combo mid attack which mans you can consistently stay on the move and avoild all damage its a great wepon with more versatility in combat that the other 2 wepons just equip the pommel that give a concussive wave at the end of any triangle attacks and the special attack that rains spears from the sky

For the barbarian hammer, since the weapon switching animation is essentially instantaneous, you can just hit R2 to switch to the blades a spilt second before you roll and now you got a dodge again.

Heres the thing for me tho, Blade of Chaos in God of War 1 at level 5 when used with Rage of The Gods has one of the best moveset in the series with its hold "Square" and watch 360 radius attack obliterate, its Triangle combo is also one of the most overpowered in the series since enemies in 1 didn't really block at all and those who do usually can be broken through with Rage of The Gods attacks Honestly, eye of Atlantas is kinda meh, not versatile in that it focuses on one enemy, not very much damage, and magic usage is mildly high Theras Bane doesn't actually increase the damage of Blades of Athena but actually lowers it, but in return it gives you the ability to put timed explosions onto enemies for more croud control

Always cool to see a weapons ranking video, and this is interesting for how it includes magic stuff as weapons as well. Appreciate the good editing to make the execution and moves line up with what exactly you're talking about-- editing this stuff must've taken a *long* time to do. Pity to see Ascension and the Barbarian Hammer rank so low, but that's mainly because of some personal bias to Ascension being a first ever encounter with GOW, and me wanting to see the hammer as a kind of underdog on the weapon front. For a future video: ALL GOW bosses might take an even *longer* time to do. It's clearly a series you are very familiar with, so this next suggestion may be a bit unfeasible... but i'd be interested to see you rate weapons from other hack-and-slash type games. Like more of a tier list kind of video. Putting weapons such as Chaoseater, the Scythe and the Tremor Gauntlet from Darksiders, the Combat Cross, gauntlet and boot from Castlevania: Lords of Shadows, the Scythe and Cross from Dante's Inferno etc. in a tier rank of how interesting and enjoyable you found them. A question, though. Where did you get "Levilython" for the axe from? It's called "Leviathan". Which... is mythologically strange, as Leviathan is a primordial sea monster from Biblical writings, and in some cases considered something akin to Satan. Then again, it's God of War. It really sets out to do its own thing. Either way, thank you for taking the time to make this video, and wish you good luck and fun on your future projects!

Honestly when it comes to the Blades, I like the Blades of Exile the most, I think. I just found it more useful and enjoyable than the Blades of Athena and the Blades of Chaos and more powerful as well. As a fan of the series for more than a decade, I was somewhat hesitant to use the Leviathan Axe, but I actually really like it and think it’s a perfect foil for Thor’s own hammer and I like the importance it has for Kratos’ character, and it’s the same reason why I love the Draupnir Spear, the Arms of Sparta and the Blade of Olympus. I also think that the Gauntlet of Zeus, Neman Cestus and the Claws of Hades are great weapons due to how powerful it is.

I think it belonged in the top 5 for one lore wise reason. All of Kratos' weapons were given to him or he took them. But Draupnir was made specifically him him to beat a specific opponent. And the "Forge" scene was breath takingly beautiful. Also I like the fact that Mimir and Brok was there.

Fun fact about the Nemean Cestus: you can use it to stun lock Zeus in his first (and arguably most difficult) phase by backing him into a wall with the magic attack and using triangle attacks in a certain rhythm. I used this to beat him on Titan Difficulty with an infinite he couldn’t escape. This works a bit in 3D areas as well, but given that you have a Z-axis to worry about so having an enemy continue aligning with a wall is more challenging. Still; the stun on the weapon is VERY useful even if you can’t infinite an enemy. Even against hordes of foes the Nemean Cestus are just as if not more useful than the Blades of Exile.

Interestingly, I find the spear to be THE MOST effective weapon in the entirety of GOWR. It’s understood the axe is better for shredding a single enemy one by one and the blades are better are crowd control. But I find the spear manages both. The basic combos and evade attacks can shred a single enemy and the gale force blast helps whenever you get swarmed. The ability to siphon ANY element from an enemy to use as opposed to just having fire and ice is a massive game changer. It also seemingly has much higher stun damage but that’s just how it feels to me. Overall, I think it should’ve been placed higher but that’s only my opinion. Great video :)

I just realized that the Drupnir spear's attack moves are very similar to the arms of sparta! thats pretty cool to see where they got their inspiration from, and also good consistency of moveset Kratos has.

I didn't even know aphrodite's ambrosia was a thing and i had already beaten GOS once recently and another on the hardest difficulty. Missed it once when i discovered how to unlock it after my first playthrough and even after i did i forgot about it instantly lol. Man GOS looking at it has some of my fav moves, the sprinting into a grab and smash ones face on the ground being one of my favs like most of the chaos blades move set which is why i'd rank it as numero uno in my list. Exile though feels smoother for some reason and i also like it's graple near enemies move. Anyway if i had to rank the rest it'd be Nemean for being strong but short ranged Whip for carrying me through the toughest battles on Chaos with it's insane mid air combat Army Of Hades for stunlocking and deleting enemies Poseidon's Rage for the greatest area of effect move aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand maybe Scourge Of Erinys for being OP af, i would've placed it at the top but that'd be unfair, idk i just can't ignore the healing aspect of it I also really liked the Spear Of Destiny as a kid but now i feel meh about it, still cool, but i default to the Blade Of Olympus for being OP. Definitely a good decision to make it into a Rage move in 3 because it's broken af otherwise and good on the devs for giving you the ability to doge mid air when you get Hermes boots Also idk the english ver of "Charon" either but if you want to be 🤓 just say "Haros" do NOT pronounce it "Heyros" though just "A" not "ay", just imagine you're falling to your death type of "a" and don't give the "O" any "u" sound like how we pronounce "oh". Found the perfect example actually, keep the O from omega, you don't say the word like "ooumega" you just say "O", no "u" to be heard. Man i'm horrible at this, my teachers said i'd be great at teaching english though so i'll take their word for it...(edit: we were talking about the weapon and i forgor💀...i forgot about the weapon itself when i played through the game and never used it lol)(also also i have to squeeze in another edit to express my :O face when the axe was called iconic. I'm not gonna comment on that much because idc but i can't see how in any way, shape, form or any other way that could be the case. From the moment i saw it i thought, Thor's hammer except it's an axe that's cold. Ok? Meanwhile the blades, just when have i ever seen anything like them anywhere else ever before? When i think of Kratos either the blades are tied on him or that GOW3 image of him looking down with the Nemean Cestus, idk just my 2 scents on that and i also wanna say that i found 1 good use for the Barbarian Hammer in all my years of playing...that damn skeleton fight in the elevator you have to pull the chain so it decends)

To be fair on the axe comment: There aren't many games out there where the main character uses an axe, short of Brütal Legend with the Separator. (And i guess Clementine too, though that's a different kind of "axe" ) And the utility that the Leviathan Axe offers makes it more interesting than how most media depict it-- as being brutish and slow. They certainly *can* be used in such a way, but they're not as slow and unwieldy as most media make them out to be. And for a symbolic point of view: The Blades are weapons that Kratos absolutely hates, yet they always return. They are made for killing, and that's just what they'll do. But the axe was a gift from his late wife, and an axe can be used both as a tool and a weapon. Construction and destruction in one. Both the Separator and Leviathan Axe do have silhouettes that are easily recognized, too, so as a literal icon... well, recognizable, to repeat myself within the same sentence. As a Brütal Legend fan: i do want to emphasize some of the cool enhancements that the Separator has (even though it can only have one equipped at a time) : Stuff like super sharpness for extra damage, setting enemies aflame, a bloodlust within the axe that boosts damage more and more the more enemies are killed in quick succession, chain lightning that hits and jumps between enemies, leeching of health, black tears that reduce the incoming damage of afflicted enemies-- and steel, regenerating barbs that break off easily and explode after a while. Somewhat basic stuff, but it keeps up with the spirit of metal.

i agree on most of the the places but i gotta telly you, you should def have considered the especial attacks from the blade of the gods that you do while blocking, because dude, those animations are one of the sickest i've seen in the series, kratos look so epic moving the blade in those ways

11:58 actually Helios is a god. Titans are also gods. Titan is more like of a title in greek mythologi. Primordials, titans and olympians are all gods. They just have different titles.

I must be one of the few people that liked the barbarian hammer, but it was absolutely devastating. True, dodging wasn't an option and their ranged attack that used spirits to chase down foes weren't that much helpful, but using the rage of the titans i could simply forget about my health bar. Btw idk if you associated the different rages to the weapons they were tied to, but imo the best was the rage of the titans. Easy to use, usable at any time and super easy to refill via grabbing and beating up any enemy with circle. Pd. In fact, the barbarian hammer produced golden orbs from time to time with each enemy kill. Same as nemesis whip's held attacks giving green, blue and golden orbs, claws of hades giving green orbs, etc. In ascension each element had a chance to drop certain orbs. Ares dropped golden orbs, zeus dropped blue orbs, hades dropped green orbs and poseidon dropped red orbs.

@@jurtheorc8117 I felt like the Barbarian Hammer was offended the most. I can see that not being able to roll turns off people. And I understand that putting it in the bottom based on personal subjective enjoyment is fine, but the weapon is really not useless or redundant. It has a nice ranged attack with the wave of fire with L1 + Triangle input. It deals lots of damage, even more so in the rage mode. It is a good tool to shatter petrified enemies, like one hit can shatter even big frozen enemies. Also the summoned souls can trip enemies and prepare them to be attacked. Other then the hammer I would've loved to see Typhoon's Bane higher in the list. Also, petrifying magic with Medusa's head and Eurayle's head are immensely useful. Perhaps my initial comment was a bit rude for which I apologize.
