Zeus would kill them off Nobody was strong enough to do anything to him, all of the main gods were apart of his army. I think Artemis didn't attack since she felt some type of way about it. Most of the gods actually appreciated how Kratos saved them numerous times. But killing Zeus they just didn't want to get in the middle of, it's best for them to not involve themselves

Dionysus as a boss actually has so so much potential for a ton of reasons, for one he actually predates the Greek pantheon, he’s existed almost as long as wine itself has, he was originally a god of wine, madness, death and rebirth who was worshipped by those on the outskirts of society; when the Greeks made their pantheon they initially left him out because they didn’t approve of him but they eventually changed the way he was portrayed to be more light hearted and he was welcomed into the pantheon Dionysus has some truly eldrich stuff he can do in stories, true madness, getting people to tear others limb from limb, mind controlling people into his followers; the dude is legit terrifying and it would’ve been so cool too see that version of him as like a main antagonist in a God of War game

I remember when I first heard about GOWIII and how it would be "the end of the gods" I imagined that Olympus would be heavily populated by gods. Both major and minor. I imagined that many minor gods would be quickly dispatched, not through boss fights, but either as minor enemies or quicktime events. (Or they'd be killed in cutscenes by other gods/titans) Like a part of Olympus would have the art gods together, or that the water gods, nature gods, etc would work together in themed groups based on their relationships with everyone.

I do kinda feel like that might take away from the importance of these gods and their real life counterparts. Like it would be kinda shoehorned in if kratos had to fight a bunch of gods that were just introduced into the franchise, and take time away from the gods we already know of. Im sure the team working on the original trilogy sought to interpret the wide array of gods in greek mythology in their games without making everything to crowded.

Imagine being the Goddess of Eternal Youth, to a people who does not have Eternal Youth. Also, since Helios God of the Sun, was in the game, it always bothered me that his sister, Selene, Goddess of the Moon wasn't there. In fact, It really did bother me that so many gods that we know exists in this game, as they've either shown up, such as Artemis, or were mentioned, such as Apollo, were never adressed in God of War 3, or afterwards.
@FraserSouris
@FraserSouris Жыл бұрын
From Santa Monica's perspective, I imagine the issue is that it would have made the game feel bloated or anticlimatic if the game brought up so many more Gods briefly only for Kratos to ignore them or quickly kill them. Like, the Gods GOW 3 does have, the game spends a fair amount of time developing some sort of rivalry and relationship with Kratos in the brief time that God has. Like, even though Hermes isn't a huge threat to Kratos, he still has an extended sequence with Kratos where we learn a bit of his character and have some sequences with him before Kratos kills him. It would be hard to replicate that for the potentially hundreds of Gods they could have included.

Maybe that could be used to explain the Roman gods as being the survivers taking up the old Pantheon's roles for a new civilization. Who knows maybe Jupiter could just be Apollo pretending to be like another Zeus.
@Motleydoll123
@Motleydoll123 Жыл бұрын
Indeed. Or you could have the background element of the surviving Greek gods bringing back the dead gods or find replacements. The ultimate irony being that eventually kratos is directly picked to fill the role of either Mars, or Jupiter(in the case of him becoming Jupiter, it’s prophecy going full circle. Zeus eventually has his position as king of the gods taken by his son who kills him). This could lead into a division in the factions, as Atreus and kratos are seperated but wiser now, but their actions do have further consequences, as Atreus ends up acquiring new knowledge while kratos is elsewhere seeking a measure of penance for his mistakes. The Roman pantheon being the successor or surviving Greek gods leading to Atreus and kratos fighting them as you have their conquest mirroring the expansion and assimilation of the other pantheons into their own, maybe aligning with the dark imagery of them absorbing the gods defeated into themselves to help claim their powers and domains. Suddenly minor gods of lesser domains could be elevated as you have a fight where to rebuild the pantheon and strengthen it, they must absorb and claim the powers of the other gods as their own.

It's interesting because I feel this is another misconception that often gets grafted onto the older God of War games. People tend to think they were all about killing Gods and nothing else, when in reality, that's not entirely true. In fact, like you said, you actually don't end up killing that many Gods in most of the older games. For example, in GOW 1, the only God you kill is Ares, and that's at the very end of the game. Not to mention, it's literally the whole point of the game and the main goal. The only game where it feels like you're killing a God every five minutes is GOW 3, but it at least makes sense there since you're in a full-on war against them. You're not just killing them for no reason or because you can. To me, this is another case where since GOW 3 was the most popular game in the Greek series and the one that most are familiar with, people just look at that game and think that's how the series always was until GOW 4 came along, similar to how people think that Kratos was nothing but a shallow, one dimensional, murderous rage monster before Dad of Boy. Kratos wasn't JUST killing Gods in the older games. He was doing other things as well, such as searching for his brother, tracking down Helios, and trying to break his oath to Ares. While he may kill a few other beings and monsters along the way, that's not really much different from all the beings and monsters you have to kill in the newer games, too. It's ironic because a lot of people will tend to use this point as a way to downplay the newer games, saying how they're too "tame" or they're not "true" God of War games because you're not killing Gods the whole time, but really, all they're doing is just painting the older games in that very same shallow image they hate so much. Unintentionally I'm sure, but God of War was never JUST about slaughtering Gods left and right. Sure, it might have been a major selling point of the older games, but it wasn't the only selling point. They were much more deep and layered than that.

@chandllerburse737 I don't think that's accurate though. For one, it's not like Kratos was 100% an innocent bystander that did nothing to earn the ire of the Gods. Like at the start of the story of GOW2, Kratos is going around destroying cities for Sparta. He's doing the exact same thing that Ares did. That was what Athena used to justify killing him back in GOW1. Kratos is openly disregarding and being disrespectful to Athena wh straight up tells him "with every city you destroy, the wrath of Olympus grows. Soon I will no longer be able to protect you". And later, when Zeus takes Kratos power and offers to spare Kratos in echancge for Kratos putting an end to his arrogant streak, Kratos continues to disrespect and belittle Zeus who then kills him. Of course, you can make the point that Kratos has grown bitter from how the Gods did not help cure his trauma. But at the same time, you can argue that from Gods POV, Kratos wasn't doing himself any favours. If Kratos did show more restraint and care, he probably wouldn't have made so many enemies on Olympus (see Herculues). And secondly, even though Kratos says " he does not seek to destroy Olympus only Zeus", the issue is that in order to destroy Zeus, he has to destroy Olympus. Remember, the Gods in GOW are tied to natural phenomena. Killing Poisidon caused massive tidal waves. Killing Hades trapped souls in the underworld. Killing Helios caused the sun to fall out of the sky. For Zeus, it's said that "he is Olympus". And by the end of GOW3, Kratos basically brought down the apolcapse. Even if he only killed Zeus without killing any other Gods, it's heavily implied that would also have caused natural disasters. If anything, I would argue GOW is the story of how Kratos goes from being a sorta sympathetic anti-hero in GOW1 to beginning a heel turn that feels justified in GOW2 to becoming worse than the Gods he is fighting in GOW3 all for revenge he comes to regret later.

Makes sense but its more likely that most kept naturality were kept from joining with the help of minor figures like her. Making minor figures the ones that would establish the order that kratos have undone. It would be intersting to see coming to greece while going to egypt and seeing it become mostly okay. Of course we can't meet them all but they could monitor them passing by. Allowing some minor figures to tell what happened after kratos left it. Possibly trying to involve them in the fight between various gods that couldn't become major gods. Such as various sun gods, moon gods. Also the problem of realm of dead being destroyed need to be resolved as well. It would be interesting how much arteus learned from kratos' struggles.

Funny enough, I had actually had an idea for a 'fourth main game' that was about setting Kratos on the path to atonement that featured several of these gods. Specifically it was Artemis, Aphrodite, and Dionysus (along with some of the other gods) dredging up Kratos and telling him he needs to go a-killing one last time for them. Specifically, Eris, as a goddess of discord, conflict, and chaos is having a ball of a time in the ruined world and is working with a few others to stomp out those shreds of hope Kratos bled out. Kratos is tired, depressed, and the worst part is Nemesis and Demeter are basically harassing him endlessly wanting justice. (with this video, guess we can throw Hecate into that group) So the plot is a bit of Kratos coming to terms with his transgressions, working to do more than stab himself to make things right, and getting his groove back. Namely when it turns out the oracle who told Zeus and the other Olympians the prophecy of The Marked Warrior to begin with that set Kratos and zeus down the paths of madness was none other than Eris in disguise who also taunts how little she actually had to do to set things into motion.

I always thought that it would be interesting to see a story where Kratos is returns to the Greek realm, either by choice or force, where the remaining Greek gods are trying to fill the blanks left by Kratos' rampage. Kratos has to deal with the effects of his decisions directly, while we get to see how the Greek world has recovered in the time between his exile and his return. Think of these ideas: Apollo and Demeter could be working together to try and get the sun (and maybe the moon) to function again. We could also have Eos and Astraeus in here as well. Aether could be involved as well, as he could be the one organizing the efforts to clear the skies after Greece was plunged into darkness. Aeolus could be in here because he, much like the last four, is having to fix the damage done by the destruction of those who previously worked with them. He could be trying to control the winds and storms after the directional winds were all killed. Nike, Bia, and Zelus trying to fill the void first left by Ares, and then Kratos. They have to struggle to properly govern over war, and we can have some family drama as Kratos has to teach them. (Maybe we even get a reveal that Kratos was their brother.) Asclepius struggling under the immense need for medicinal care and his struggle to properly help all those in need. Triton and/or Amphitrite trying to fill Poseidon's role as the god of the sea, and try and control the cursed waves so humanity can live in peace. Achelous could also be included here, with some kind of quest to deal with the sea being pushed in through the rivers of Greece. Demeter trying to help people by fixing the plagues and famines caused by curses of Pandora's box being released physically, while also still dealing with the grief of her daughter being killed. She'd be pretty interesting as we could combine the "freaky obsessive mother" version of Demeter with the "mournful and lonely mother", allowing us to both have an interesting character, and maybe even a fight or two as she struggles with her emotions towards her daughter's killer Attis could also show up here, as they would have a hand in the restoration of Greece's plant life. Their specialization in the circle of life would be an interesting contrast to the chaos enveloping Greece, and the stressed-out mom energy of Demeter. Chronos would also have a hand in the idea life, death, and rebirth. He could have a position as trying to make up for the sister's of fate's death, and could have some interesting and contemplative moments as we dive into the contrast between his chaotic and unpredictable way of governing time in comparison to the way that the sister's tried to weave fate to their liking. Aristaeus is a great one for this idea, as he could be using his beekeeping and cheese making skills to create provisions and help those who are without food because of the collapse, but he wouldn't be doing something as major as trying to set the sun back in motion. He's a small time guy and that could be an interesting contrast to the rest of the gods and their major struggles. Dionysus is another one like this. He's the god of drink, and in a time of great chaos, he'd be trying to keep spirits up and wine flowing. His attitude could serve as a contrast to the more organized Aristaeus, as the two would be trying to feed Greece, each with a different approach to it. And at the center of it all we could have Hestia. I think we could write some lore that Zeus had tried to imprison her, as he believed she served as a threat to his place as the king of the gods. But she escaped, and Zeus turned his attention to other matters. When Kratos led the final assault on Olympus, and everything dived into the darkest night, Hestia reappeared. Rallying the remaining gods, she set to work rebuilding Greece, leaving behind Mount Olympus to be among the people. The gods no longer a light on a hill, distant and ambivalent, but a warm presence, who are in the center of the people, rather than above them. All this goes to say that I think there's some real potential for a lot of these characters to be involved in a vast story covering what happened to Greece after Kratos wrecked shop.

I think Circe could've worked as the main villain (or at least the right hand of someone like Erebus or Phobos) of a smaller PSP game like Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta as some uber powerful sorceress goddess who wants to take over the world or something. I could easily imagine Kratos coming across some Greek soldiers sent to her island and he then finds them all turned into pigs where they're either found already slaughtered or they're eaten by cyclops and other monsters. And also, during her boss fight, she can also turn Kratos into an animal, but instead of a pig, he's instead turned into a big boar (I played a lot of Age of Mythology) who can still fight back but is obviously much weaker... also, one of the unlockable costumes is basically Kratos as a manbearpig or something like that.

@@nagatouzumaki4047the gods fled from Typhon, not the Giants, you can know more by searching Typhon/Typhoeus, here are some of the sources to what he said: Antoninus Liberalis, Metamorphoses 28 "Typhon was the son of Ge (Gaea, Earth), a deity monstrous because of his strength, and of outlandish appearance. There grew out of him numerous heads and hands and wings, while from his thighs came huge coils of snakes. He emitted all kinds of roars and nothing could resist his might. He felt an urge to usurp the rule of Zeus and not one of the gods could withstand him as he attacked. In panic they fled to Aigyptos (Egypt), all except Athena and Zeus, who alone were left. Typhon hunted after them, on their track. When they fled they had changed themselves in anticipation into animal forms. Apollon became a hawk [i.e. the Egyptian god Horus], Hermes an ibis [the Egyptian god Thoth], Ares became a fish, the lepidotus [Egyptian Lepidotus or Onuris], Artemis a cat [Neith or Bastet], Dionysos took the shape of a goat [Osiris or Arsaphes], Herakles a fawn, Hephaistos (Hephaestus) an ox [Ptah], and Leto a shrew mouse [Wadjet]. The rest of the gods each took on what transformations they could. When Zeus struck Typhon with a thunderbolt, Typhon, aflame hid himself and quenched the blaze in the sea. Zeus did not desist but piled the highest mountain, Aitna (Etna), on Typon and set Hephaistos on the peak as a guard. Having set up his anvils, he works his red hot blooms on Typhon's neck." Pseudo-Hyginus, Fabulae 196 : "When the god in Egypt feared the monster Typhon, Pan bade them transform themselves into wild beasts the more easily to deceive him. Jove [Zeus] later killed him with a thunderbolt. By the will of the gods, since by his warning they had avoided Typhon's violence."

2:12 While it wasn't a boss fight. Audio files extracted from the God Of War 3 source code showed that Aphrodite was originally going to die in the game. The general concept was that after Kratos killed Hephaestus he would be pass back through Aphrodites Bed Chamber, where the player would be given the option to either get into bed with her one more time, or skip it and go straight to the next goal. If Kratos does get into bed with her, she pulls a knife and tries to shank him. And in response Kratos throws her through the portal and leaves her to rot alongside the corpse of her dead husband. If Kratos passes by her and exits the room immediately she says something like. "Fine! Go kill Zeus for all I care! Don't expect me to be waiting for you when you're done!" and slams the door in Kratos face.

A 4-player game starring Nike, Kratos, Bia, and Zelus would be amazing, for sure. Also, the surviving deities rebuilding Greece on the level of humans would be a cool idea.

Caerus: God of Luck: I actually think you can do something with this one. Maybe more of a puzzle boss. You could have it that Careus' luck allows him to seamlessly dodge or avoid Kratos' attacks. And leave traps by just knocking stuff over that targets Kratos. So the way to beat him would be to tire him out like Sans in Undertale or get him to make a mistake to allow Kratos to grab him or something and then use him to open a path. Like, lets say there's a trapped floor where the sequence to safely cross is unknown. Once Kratos gets his hands on Caerus, he could use him as bait to safely navigate the floor, and then throw Caerus away who managed to luckily land safely and flee. Plutus: God of Wealth: This could add to your "Kratos has to fight a gauntlet of Minor God Bosses" idea as something of a joke or change of pace. When it's Plutus' turn. He tries to bribe Kratos to leave. Kratos refuses. Plutus tries to pay his soldiers to fight Kratos but they're so terrified of him that they flee. So Kratos ignores Plutus and moves on.

Deimos, Morpheus or Hypnos could either be a fun way of going back through old fights with multiple phases or forcing Kratos to fight characters he felt guilty about killing. The Last Spartan, Orkos or Deimos come to mind. Something else interesting would be fighting himself in a dream. Young Kratos in multiple phases... or something like the Sorrow in MGS3 but for those characters he's killed like his mother or Calliope or Pandora or Deimos or Last Spartan and Orkos. Apollo and Artemis would probably be more like Magne and Modi, but archers. One is the light and the other is darkness. So it could be in a light phase, but the other phase would be dealing with an archer in darkness. Deceit though could literally mess around with illusions or reflections. So either a mirror fight of Kratos vs Kratos and that's it... or something more like the mirror boss fight in Splatterhouse on the PS3/360.

Basically flirting and seducing Kratos and taunting him while she uses her chaos based powers to destroy Kratos. As for Nemesis, I thought the only reference to her was the Nemesis Whip. However would be an awesome boss fight. But as for Nyx on the other hand, my head Canon has always been that she was one of the primordial gods of the GOW universe, especially considering that she's the mother of all bad things while Chaos is the father of all things chaos. Also please do a part 2 where you discuss Norse gods who survived the event of ragnarok and how they could function as potential boss fights, or possible allies.

According to rumors, there is speculation of an expansion that takes place after the events of Ragnarok, where players assume the role of Atreus. In the expansion, it could be intriguing to introduce Apollo and Artemis, but under different identities. Initially, they could encounter Atreus on friendly terms, unaware of his heritage. However, their perspective changes drastically once they discover Atreus is actually the son of the feared Ghost of Sparta, Kratos. This revelation prompts Apollo and Artemis to turn hostile, driven by a desire to eliminate Atreus. Recognizing the danger, Atreus manages to escape their clutches and formulates a plan to warn his father, Kratos, about the brewing threat. Not without a fierce battle against both Apollo and Artemis, he eventually makes his way towards his father's location. Meanwhile, Apollo and Artemis make a vow to find and kill Kratos, consumed by vengeance and a thirst for retribution. However, their mission takes an unexpected turn when they encounter Athena, who informs them about someone who has been wronged by Kratos and Atreus. Adding to the suspense, Athena reveals Sindri, leaving the story on an enticing cliffhanger.

I don't think Kratos even cared, at that time in his life. He was Hell-bent on getting his revenge and killing whatever got in his way. He didn't plan to spare anything at all. The survivors are just those whose death did not further his goal. Either they were not hostile or they were not in his way or he did not need to kill them to gain a specific power or retrieve a specific item. Killing them would just have been a time-wasting, useless, distraction. Also, he views himself as a 'noble' warrior who commits atrocities for a 'noble' cause (such as for the glory of Sparta or for his revenge) - not as a mindless brute that just kills others for the sake of killing others. I know the distinction is quite difficult to make, considering the countless victims Kratos has sacrificed in a heartbeat (like setting fire to a caged soldier), but, to him, there is a distinction and that is justification enough for him not to kill every single god out there.

So, for the Hypnos Morpheus fight, I was thinking that it's a Tag team thing. Kratos would be in a pitch black room, sleep walking where he would have slower movement and limited combos, fighting slow and weak enemies. Unlike the fodder enemies, both Hypnos and Morpheus are "invisible" in the arena, but the players could track them by their footsteps, either by sound, by dust particles/soundwaves or both. If Kratos gets too close to either of them they'll hit Kratos for a small chunk of health. If Kratos manages to hit Morpheus, the fodder enemies disappear for a short duration, if he kills Morpheus then the fodder is gone and Kratos is teleported in a hallway full of traps where the player has to maneuver around "invisible" traps (they still makes sounds based on proximity and there are soundwaves). If Kratos hits Hypnos, Kratos wakes up, the room becomes visible for a short duration of about 3 to 12 seconds and the fodder enemies become much faster. To make the fight with Hypnos last longer, Hypnos would teleport around the arena after each hits awake Kratos would land. If Kratos kills Hypnos, Morpheus hits harder and more quickly, he creates duplicate of himself (that does half the damage he normally does) and the fodder enemies now have a grab move. When killing both of them Kratos would get some item that would slow down enemies and summon fodder against bosses.

13:46 Dionysus actually IS in the series. Kinda. He is mentioned a few times in the God of War II novel, in reference to the story of Theseus and Ariadne. So he does exist. And there's also existing Concept Art of Dionysus that was made for God of War Ascension. 22:54 Ceto is actually one of the Primordial Gods shown punching each other to death in the opening cutscene of God of War Ascension. So she was already dead long before Kratos as ever born. 25:57 Iris appears in the God of War II novel where she has a surprisingly big role, getting into conflict with Hermes and trying to take his place on Olympus, and when that fails she ends up leaving Olympus right before Kratos invades it. So she got lucky and is still alive. 28:25 Nyx is also in the series. She is mentioned by name in God of War Ascension, where we also see a statue of her, and she's depicted in concept art.

The truly scary thing about Dionysus is that he is _literally_ the only other god to have canonically used Zeus's thunderbolts, something no other god has done. Kratos had to be given that power by Zeus personally, but Dionysus just, _did it._ Just picked one up and threw it, they are literally specifically made so that only Zeus can use them, and he straight up sidestepped that casually.

I guess the devs didn't make you fight Morpheus cuz that would make "rescuing Helios" not a need at all without making the game last longer (it's way shorter than other GoW games, I've just finished it a week ago), so in that case we wouldn't have the endgame in the Hades/Fields of Elysium and Persephone involved at all, so Kratos basically had two options to stop the god's eternal dream: Find Helios or Kill Morpheus, but they told him to just go find Helios and he didn't knew how to deal directly with Morpheus instead, so he was just doing his job, but he was capable of directly trackingand killing the god of dreams (and maybe Hypnos too) if he was told to do so. If Chains of Olympus wasn't a PSP game and had the same main games length, Kratos would've fought Morpheus/Hypnos and then Charon and Persephone later

According to Stig Asmussen, there was a scrapped idea in GoW III where Aphrodite would have a second sex mini-game, except this time she’d attempt to skewer Kratos with the daggers hanging over her bed, initiating a quick time event where Kratos would end up kicking her down to Hades. Additionally, Todd Papy said that Artemis was planned to be a playable character in Ascension, and she’s depicted with the lower half of a lion below her human-shaped torso, but this idea was also scrapped. The concept art for it is really cool, though.

The greeks had a habit of not only splitting up roles but also the very gods themselves. Pan and Hermes used to be the same god, Apollo used to have Helios as one of his names, hell Hades didn't even exist until after Mycanean Greece became what we know as Ancient Greece, with Poseidon instead filling the role Hades had for most of the myths (hence why Poseidon had the epithet Earthshaker).

Funny thing about Aphrodite. In ancient Greece she was actually a War Goddess to begin with. Sure love and all that we know of her were there too, but she was an offshoot of Ishtar according to scholars. Pretty interesting to think about. Aphrodite is also known to smite plenty of people, usually for being prettier than her or people claiming someone is prettier than her. Either way you become a target after that usually. So yeah I could see her choosing to fight if she really cared enough. Not to mention being given a good enough petty reason in her eyes. Course I doubt Kratos would ever think to bring her beauty into an argument really. If anything he might just get mad if she insults the women he's had in his life. Which would DEFINITELY get some of that classic rage boiling for sure. Never insult Kratos' dead wife and daughter. Hell even just insulting his dead Mother, Pandora, or if we ever see her again perhaps even a mention of Faye might all do it too. Really would depend on a number of factors on who'd get the insult that'd start Kratos up. May add more as I watch more, we'll see. Ok time for Demeter then, cool! Demeter could actually make an epic ass boss fight with a seasonal twist. It's heavily implied that Demeter is the one who transitions the seasons, having created winter as a result of her grief when Persephone was taken by Hades(or whatever happened depending on the version, there's way too many to mention here). Not to mention the scythe having different attacks depending on the season she's using to fight you. Talk about phases huh? Also she'd have plenty of reason for going apeshit given what happened LAST TIME something happened to Persephone. You'd think her death would've had Demeter all gungho and ready to kill Kratos just as the others wanted to. Guess the writers somehow forgot most of the myths that she played a part in? I dunno. Maybe she'll come knocking in a sequel or something, who knows. Back to the video now, again. No lore dumps this time. Just minor nitpicks and some food for thought. Anyway for Hypnos and Morpheus, I'm chalking it up to laziness. There just, isn't an excuse for how pointless they turned out to be in the grand scheme of things. Also you'd think, much like with Demeter, they'd have a bone to pick with Kratos. It's implied as far as I know that Hypnos, Morpheus, and THANATOS are all children of Nyx. Thanatos' own demise could've easily spurred his brothers into proper action against Kratos this time. Maybe if you wanna give the writers the benefit here, maaaybe Hypnos and Morpheus just panicked when Kratos showed up the first time looking to smack them around some, if not worse. Imagine part of their reason for choosing to attack Kratos later being guilt over their brother's death. Much like how Kratos chased down and killed Thanatos over his own guilt of not being able to save Deimos. Narrative mirrors anyone? Also I'm aware I could be wrong about Morpheus being one of Nyx's children, sorry if that's the case and I messed up. Even so I can see Morpheus choosing to help Hypnos anyway. Again more mirroring of how Kratos and Deimos initially fought Thanatos together. Just adding onto the twin boss idea for them. See ya again when I edit this again, this is gonna be long, I can feel it. Not sorry tho. You know what, Imma just make a reply under myself for more instead after this. To break things up a bit more.

Circe is actually quite easy to theme a boss fight around I think. She's mainly known for showcasing power over men who trespass into her domain. Which she did to some of Odysseus' crewmates in the Odyssey. More specifically, she turns them into animals, usually pigs tho. Imagine her island being a whole ass dungeon with pigs and other dangerous animals on it. All ready to rip you apart under the whims of Circe herself? Then when Kratos proves enough of a threat she polymorphs him like she would anyone else. Perhaps it fails to work tho, as Kratos is a son of Zeus and like with Odysseus(another implied demigod if I recall right) her powers aren't as effective or plain don't work on him directly. So she has to resort to other forms of trickery alongside throwing much stronger animals at you. Sick of fighting normal piggies? Have a murderous wild boar! And hey, why not toss in a giant Tarantula as a subtle nod to Arachne! Maybe a giant snake? A wolf? Maybe even a stag for funsies? Anything is possible with this goddess really in terms of which animals she could throw at you. Maybe she may even bring back the Hydra from game one as a miniboss? Wouldn't that be a fun rematch with some toss ups in the mix so that it's not a carbon copy of the original boss fight.

Eros is a SON of Aphrodite, one she helicopter parents sometimes if the story of Eros and Psyche is anything to go by. Perhaps killing him would be another thing to get Aphrodite into warmode in hindsight. Although Eros may not even fight at all. For all we know he may have skipped town with his beloved wife and their own child Hedone. I'm honestly not too sure what you could do for a boss fight for Eros, let alone one for him and Psyche together. Again though, I'm all for them just chilling somewhere away from the fuss and mess. Preferring to not lose each other over Kratos' rampage. Maybe even helping Kratos if he spares them. With Kratos giving Eros respect for not wanting trouble for the sake of his family, but also willing to defend his own wife and daughter if Kratos goes aggressive, much like Kratos would've done for his own family. Kratos after all did respect Hephaestus for the exact same reason, just minus the wife part. I could see him also warning Eros to be mindful of Athena as well, as I could see such a meeting being most likely to occur in the third game. Just to be sure Eros has the best shot of being the Father he didn't get to be until he later meets Faye.

Given what Dreamworks' Sinbad was able to do with Eris, I could see her being a very chaotic deity. Chaos is her domain, and technically speaking she is the mastermind behind Troy where as Aphrodite was the catalyst through kidnapping Helen for Paris. So more specifically she's the goddess of chaos from strife if you wanna go with that. So yeah either she could prove to be very annoying to Kratos, or simply choose to sit on the sidelines and take a role similar to Vulgrim in Darksiders. Perhaps giving Kratos random stuff just to see what he'll do with them on his rampage. Whispering in his ear about various things, like providing info on certain gods he's after if he does something simple for her in return. Like perhaps even giving the games a new meter to fill up or collectables to gather for her. It'd be HILARIOUS if the item in question was the titular golden apple that started the whole Troy fiasco. Or if you were to go with a Chaos meter/counter, something cool can come with it alongside just giving that energy to Eris for whatever reason she may have that day. Could see her being quite fun actually.

Yes yes YES YES! I wholeheartedly agree with the idea for Hekate! Course being a witch myself, I can offer soms extra ideas too. So hey why not. I could see her using her Necromancy as a divination tool as well, something seen often in ancient cultures. And I'm pretty sure she had priestesses that did just that anyway. Imagine either meeting a priestess for her like the Oracle for Athena, or simply meeting Hekate herself. Hekate I could see taking numerous sorts of roles depending on how she's written. She pull a Mobius from Legacy of Kain Blood Omen and just give vague interpretations of the future. Granted that does tread into Zeus' whole old man disguise thing, but Zeus is way more straightforward with it than Hekate would likely be so I see no issue really. Also like Mobius she could use the vaguery to her advantage by throwing Kratos off her scent basically and into the paths of other deities as well. Or if you want a more benevolent role, she could be laying back from the conflict for reasons beyond Kratos' rampage once game 3 rolls around. Perhaps due to the evils being released, witch hunts against her followers began. So to protect them and herself, she hides away from everything going down. Waiting out the fight basically and not caring who wins ultimately. Only caring about her own worshippers and herself. Something that may get Kratos thinking a bit harder about what he's doing. Another hint that maybe he's gone too far this time. As Hekate doing this would essentially prove him wrong about the gods all being shitstains. Also I just would kinda like to see such a thing if only because I'm a witch myself. She's not among my current deities granted, but I do respect her highly. Kinda also wish God of War didn't do Gullveig dirty in the Norse games tho. It's actually theorized that Gullveig actually becomes Freyja. Much like how Freyja and Frigg are believed to be the same deity as well, something God of War actually uses for it's plot too. Gullveig was intially the goddess of witchcraft for the Norse, course if the knowledge I've got and the theories themselves are true(I personally believe so), then Freyja is still the goddess of witchcraft too. And to be fair some Freyja's actions in game still line up with that past self. Implying that witchcraft is in fact still one of her domains. Pardon the mini rant there heheheh...oops. Anyway, to the rest of the vid.

Hypnos strikes me as the type of guy to say "Brothers, the ghost of sparta will pay dearly for your deaths, i will avenge you !!!...after a 5 minute nap" then he just sleeps until Olympus gets destroyed.

A tag-team boss fight with Iris and Hermes could have some interesting power combinations, like imagine Iris make a rainbow so Hermes can run on it or something.

0:42 (In this list specifically) You forgot the titans Perses, God Of Destruction, who got stabbed right in the gotdamn eye (shout out to the Dragon Ball fans), Chronos, the literal God Of Time, (stabbed in stomach, mouth, and head), and Gaia, The Goddess Of Earth itself, who was stabbed in the heart and fell the fuck apart (Hey, that rhymes! She’s also a primordial, but she’s not a titan in Greek Mythology, surprisingly). And yeah, Aphrodite, Typhon, and Thera are obvious ones who actually survived. And also Chaos, for obvious reasons. TL;DR, and plus the Nordic/Norse Gods, Kratos has killed about 25 Gods in total. 28 if you count Erinys (daughter of Thanatos, not originally in Greek Mythology, and the Erinyes, who are the Furies, were already slain by this point in the series), Prometheus (demoted to demigod level by Zeus, technically speaking), and Sigrun (who could technically be considered a god or a demigod).

I partially love the idea of Kratos going to other lands and finding gods/goddess from greece in other areas that have been exiled after its destruction, perhaps in Egypt or maybe (as a cool concept) they escaped to Rome and adopt their new Roman names as to try to reimburse the mythology. Its an interesting thought especially with gods/goddess of revenge and justice missed out in the series, we could see them try to go against Kratos for his crimes in Greece while Kratos explains why and how he's changed. Although I think Kratos has confronted his past mentally it would be another thing entirely to confront it physically and I think thats interesting enough to have a side plot of him finding peace with the remaning Greek gods.
