Vibration can be caused by the flexible metal loop keeper for the wire harness under gas tank. Mine would expand and rub on the tank at certain rpms.
@xmoto73774 жыл бұрын
Noname the vibration wasent just one thing, you can feel it throughout the whole bike, with the extra power it vibrates just a bit more. Not much but enough to notice but I know exactly what you are talking about it runs really close to the tank

Just off the cuff, the bigger the carb bore is, the more it wants an accelerator pump to offset the low rpm bog. Haven't followed your channel but the topic is interesting. I ride my daughter's RPS Hawk and getting familiar with it - I'm a retired mech from back in the '60s and '70s. I notice her bike seems to vibrate more than older 250s I've ridden; have discovered it has a harmonic chain whip with power pulses that changed considerably when I went to a 17/45 sprocket combo.

What do you mean port match the carb to the intake? Did you mean the intake to the head? Please explain. PLEASE!!!🙏🏼
@xmoto73772 жыл бұрын
When you cut the intake to fit the carb on the bike the geometry of the intake to the carb is no longer in line, meaning there is a hard edge air flows right into. Go watch the install video I made I show you how I cut it if you did not cut the intake. The intake has to be grinded away with a dremmel on the inside so the airflow does not hit a wall and disrupt airflow. I supposed you don't absolutely have to, but if you want maximum performance and easy tuning you should def make sure there are no hard edges or restrictions in the way of the air flow. Open the slide with the carb on the intake and look inside with a flashlight to see how much needs to be grinded away

@xmoto73773 жыл бұрын
Alright so you have to pull out the stock boot and buy a silicone tubing with a 45 degree angle that has an opening on one end close to the size of the carb and use a clamp to keep it on, your going to want to open up your air box take out the paper filter and start cutting out the webbing to open the air box up with a dremmel. Then use the dremmel again where the stock boot goes into and open up that hole until the silicone tubing fits into the hole, then just make sure you buy a pod filter that fits over the silicone tubing and there ya go, you can decide to run with the air box lid on or off, just be sure to adjust jetting and dial it in

@xmoto73773 жыл бұрын
Check out my dyno video after this one, air fuel ratio was pretty much spot on. Air fuel chart shows a lean spike when the throttle is opened rapidly and when it bogs. To eliminate this a smaller carb would generate more draw minimizing the problem, however it also minimizes horsepower. Also draw is reduced when flow is increased, gonna try a PWK carb for a stronger draw next season and try to eliminate the bog, and will be strapping down on the dyno again to verify jetting
