Delinitely look like a very effective tool. What I particularly love about it is the thickness of the spine, certainly makes for a hardy and tough tool. I have the Condor Bushlore which does a decent enough job for me. Once it makes sense purchase a new blade, I will certainly give serious consideration to the Grizzly. Blessings, brother.

Thank you brother. I've only heard good things about the Condor. 👍👍

Beautiful video, great looking knife. I was thinking of getting a Casstrom No 10, but this TBS is just as nice... Keep up the good work.

Can I ask where did you get the Ferro rod from. I wouldn’t mind one that big. Craig.

I got it from The Bushcraft Store. They sell them individually. 👍

I've had that knife 5 or 6 years now ... back when everybody was mora this and mora that ... I was going away from moras. Not saying that mora is a bad knife, I just hated the blade shape ... long and narrow. I wanted a knife short and fat, like me :) So I ordered one from across the pond and wow, its a huge hefty knife. I own a lot of bushcraft style knives and its def one of my top 5 .... I have the same sheath with the dc3 (I believe the dc4 wasn't an option yet) and to be honest, I wish I had just a plain dangler sheath for it (one of these days I will order one from across the pond). One change I did make to the sheath, I wet the leather that holds the ferrorod and enlarged it to fit a 1/2 rod.
@thewildernessphilosopher2 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea for the ferro rod holder. Yeh, I understand wanting the dangler. In fact I keep fatwood in the DC4 holder on this one, and all other knives have dangler sheaths. 😃
@sharpridgehomestead2 жыл бұрын
@@thewildernessphilosopher if you decide to do that mod, I can save you a lot of time and frustration ... I tried to just wet the leather and force a ferrorod in there ... didn't work. What ended up working was taking a 1/2 dowel rod and tapering the end so it would slide in .. then once it stretched the leather, I swapped the ferrorod and let it dry. Fits like a glove now.

I have had a mark 1 TBS boar for years - it holds a great edge the sheath it came with is the main reason i don't use it as much. I have a carabiner at the top side carry slot to make it a dangler style carry. 😂

That works. 😁 It's a nice knife, you have.

Hello my friend. I watched this video about the TBS Grizzly K-720. Good demo. I was wondering where you got it and how much it costs. Where I live we a Pro Bass store and Scheels Sporting goods. Otherwise I will shop online. Thanks for the tip.
@thewildernessphilosopher2 жыл бұрын
Hello Jeffry. Down below the description of this video, the very first link goes to the manufacturer, and it is exclusively sold by The Bushcraft Store ( TBS), which is in England. You would need to pay their shipping cost, but that isn't terribly high. The site has prices in pounds, and not dollars, but it's easy enough to do a quick conversion of pounds to dollars online to determine the cost in dollars. I hope that answers your question, and thanks for watching. William

Felt let down with grizzly .really wanted it to be better
@thewildernessphilosopher Жыл бұрын
It's thick, so better for batoning and heavier work. Not so much for fine detail work.
@MegaPontoon Жыл бұрын
Its to thick and not razor sharp .such a shame.scandavian knives are better .breaks my heart to say it. Ive got a grizzly and a castrom . Castrom much better
@thewildernessphilosopher Жыл бұрын
It is thick, and better for heavier work. The TBS Boar would be the equivalent to the Castrom.
@myname90362 жыл бұрын
Feathering looks terrible. The blade is just too thick in my opinion. It’s not warranted.
@thewildernessphilosopher2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting. Yes, thinner blades will do a better job, but it's important to note that I'm terrible at feathering. 😭😅 . But it's always give and take, as a thinner blade can't do some of the heavy duty tasks that the Grizzly can. I have the TBS Wolverine, which I typically use for feathering and finer tasks, and I use the Grizzly for everything that needs that thick spine.
@Wolf-viking2 жыл бұрын
Its a Nice looking knife, but they are waste of money.. had the boar, grizzly and the small folder. They are to big and clunky for what you want from a knife this size. For ppl who have one hope you get along with it, but don’t advise new ppl to buy this crap brand knife..
@thewildernessphilosopher2 жыл бұрын
I'll respectfully disagree with you. I have 3 of their knives and have put them through a lot. They're strong, versatile, high quality, and a great value for the money. I receive nothing from them, so my opinion is based on my experience only. If you like something better, no problem. But these are absolutely wonderful knives. 👍
@Wolf-viking2 жыл бұрын
Sorry my man. But you can clearly see tho the vid that the way the knife also performs is nothing near a mora just for an example. The feathers, scrap, cutting, for not even to get to the food prep part Look up Dutchbushcraft knives channel and see why they won’t even suggest as a budget knife for new ppl. The looks are great but that’s it. But ofc everyone has a opinion.
@thewildernessphilosopher2 жыл бұрын
@Wolf-Viking wood has everything to do with feathers, and most people demonstrate pine or even green wood when showing their feather prowess. I won't deny that Mora is a good knife FOR THE PRICE, but for the price is the key here. Yeah, we'll just have to disagree about TBS. 🍺🍺
