Its a crime he has been skipped over in so many skinlines so far: Cafe Cuties - his furnace couldve been a giant tea pot. Coven: a witches apprentice. Bee skinline: he could have a giant honey dipper and his fuemigos are the bees. Winter blessed: he could kick snowglobes. There's so many easy wins and he's left out.

in all fairness Milio would never be put in Coven, they’ve got pretty established criteria for who can be in that line (adult women for Coven, monstrous/non-humanoids for Old God). He miiiight be able to get into Eclipse but even then I doubt it, this seems to be a skinline they don’t want child characters to be in.

A lot of skins give off this idea that the story was written separately from the skin design itself, like the writers and artists were each told the name of the skin line separately and created the specifics without any cross communication. This particular skin shows a big example of that, where the design itself would make for a cute concept of a wanderer in a fae world, with a big fae-made pot/backpack thing exploring the ins and outs of a wooded flowery world. A backstory could ABSOLUTELY exist for this design, but it's certainly not the one they gave.

Skins that are too similar in a way to the base design whilst initially feeling like a natural match just aren't good as an idea. It'll just be the same character in a different outfit because it's so close. It's not very innovative, this skin on the contrary in theory as Skyen said is a VERY solid concept - firefly wizard, an idea that in theory should have a great reinvention of his fuemigos, something that is as much him as Zyra's plants are her or Heimers turrets are part of him, Yorick's maiden is him etc, it's just not executed well at all.

He looks way more like a merchant that goes from fairy town to fairy town, with the big bag and clothing that doesn't indicate any particular special power or societal position*. But I'd like to think his business is doing well, as he's a cheerful lad that can afford purple clothing. I'm just chosing to ignore the lack of practical footwear, it can be brushed off as a regular fairy thing to wear shoes/sandals like that. *it's not a suit, or something super obvious like that. I do see the crown thing but that doesn't serve a purpose in the actual design either so... :x

Because this is one of the best types of skins- one that looks really good, is cute, fashionable, and an aesthetic that is well liked by fans. You need skins that are simply cute and nice to look at to offset all the skins that are alternate universes or big character swaps.

I agree with your points, but I also feel like this is an issue of skin lore vs the in game skin rarity and what riot will do for a skin of that rarity. Because the only way riot was going to put that much effort into modeling, especially if they actually wanted to change the fire Bois to be fireflies, is if it was a legendary.

I said it before: it feels like there's a disconnect between the writing & what the skin actually looks like. The writers are overselling the fantasy. More than the skin is actually going for. That or the writers don't get a good view of the finalized product & making lore based on the name alone.

Milio. I think from this last year, he was the one who flew under my radar (hell, if we were to talk about the kid from league of legends, we did get a video game all for Nunu). Still, I do like to think we could see some nice things out of him in the future for both interactions and for his skins. It will be interesting to see how they implement his giant backpack into future skins for him but I do also wonder if that could play into his stories too. Like here, we have the giant pot on his back and that would seem like that’s where he keeps the fireflies, but overall, the kiddo is suffering from the same “first skin curse” that a lot of newly released champs suffer through. That and I can’t say for sure which existing skin lines he could fit into, so I guess we’ll continue this conversation in the future the next time he pops up.

It's crazy how many better skinlines for Milio came out after his release. Everyone's mentioned La Ilusión but imagine Cats and Dogs Milio (where his Fumigos are puppies and his Q has him throwing a tennis ball and his W is a little dog following you around), Shan Hai Scrolls Milio, Elderwood, Soul Fighter (as the water boy of the event... but fire), Cosmic, Street Demons (kicking around paint bombs), Cafe Cuties, Bees?! It's such a shame that a character with such a simple design that lends itself to so many alternate takes was ultimately designed as just a pink chroma.

You know, I hate skinlines like "Bees" but Milio would fit so much in that theme. He has so much potential for a lot of skinlines like "La Ilusión", "Winterblessed", "Star Guardian", "Elderwood", "Halloween (with pumpkins)", "Pool Party", "Shanghai scrolls", "Porcelain", and more... I hope he gets a new skin soon. But if they'll treat him like what they did with Faerie court then I hope they don't release anything.

Funny enough, the last "New" champion I played is Pyke or Neeko, don't know who came out the last in 2018 but I know for sure it was one of them. After thrm I never played a new champ. Well, tbh when I started playing League, the newest champ was Aatrox so for me champs like Millo and Seraphine are...weird af. Ahh, I remember in 2015 when they implemented the master lv for champions. My first lv 5 was Kindred and she was relised at that time too I think. Good old days😢

Instead of dropping a new champ into a new skinline, they should find a legacy skinline that would best explore the new unit while also expanding on beloved universes. In this way, we can better understand who the new champ is through the lense of familiar stories and settings. Faerie court being new and Milio being new do nothing together to paint the story of who Milio is as a character. Now, a "Milio Bots" to pair with Nunubot?? That's an exploration that I feel immediately embodies what Milio is about. He could repurpose Bots that were created for full destruction to work in a more supportive function, possibly being a new duo for Nunu in the bot arena. There's just so much potential in exploring legacy skinlines and I feel like the balls being dropped heavily cause the only real example of a new unit being introduced with a "Legacy" skinline is Nilah with SG, but SG won't ever really be tucked into the legacy vault so idk if that counts

I can't speak to the faerie themes of LoL but I definitely find this skin less interesting than the (admittedly not much more interesting) faeries from magic: the gathering. I've been working on a faerie themed deck in that game and the artists always have a variety of interpretations for how some themes are done, but a lot of the faeries look cool and the theming of them is very very present in the cards and what they do. Flavor doesn't feel like it would be such a big factor in a game where flavor doesn't matter that much to gameplay, but I like the work they've done to make cards and their flavor cohesive

The Faerie Court Line makes me so mad... the idea of adapting the characters to fit a fairy storyline is so fascinating and has so many fun directions to go in but the actual execution just delivers absolutely nothing. No playing around with nature themes, or bug themes or even tiny things repurposed ala a Borrowers aesthetic... just nothing. Probably my least favorite skin line just for that tbh, sure there are others that have bad executions but this idea was so easy to right and they gave us nothing!!!
