6:48 This is exactly what lil wayne did to make himself more popular with the consumer If ja had followed that formula and not listen to irv maybe ppl wouldn't have left him so easy It's easier to say, I don't wanna let hot music go from a business perspective, but music is the business to sell So at the end of the day, a single can come off a mixtape especially now a days, even at the time of this was released, wayne was doing it, they coulda followed or copied that and still been musically relevant I agree with ja not irv on this one
@murlinrichard54813 жыл бұрын
More importantly let me say this At the time of this show the G-unit beef was still alive and well with murder inc I feel like ja is a great rapper, even if nobody wants to claim him to be or diss him and call him a cookie monster, ja may not give you alotta bars as a rapper, even then, but he just raps and lyrical at that My point being, in 2021 ja rule would have to create atleast 5 mixtapes of him just rapping on beats, doesn't matter who beat it is, just create music and let him rap to be hot And he'd have to do it weekly, each week drop 1 mixtape at a time, I just don't understand why he hasn't been doing it, times has changed, nobody buys albums anymore, even digitally Don't make a record going after 50 or aftermath as a whole, stay in your lane, rap over music, get your name back out there and create a buzz for yourself and let mfs kno you ain't left, it's that simple, if you're an artist create and let the ppl who hear it decide if its hot or not
@felixthefortunate19903 жыл бұрын
@@murlinrichard5481 very interesting points, thx for sharing 💪🏼
@bradlee58743 жыл бұрын
I love the points made on here. If Ja had continued to make music through the mixtape grind regardless of whether he was relevant or not, I think he would have been still on top of his game. I actually remember being anticipated for more music from him once I heard "Uh-Oh" in 2007 on the radio because I haven't heard from him in a while at that time.
@murlinrichard54813 жыл бұрын
@@bradlee5874 and it flopped Wayne was on top of his game at that time wayne couldn't be stopped, it's all about consistency I honestly feel like G-unit didn't play a role in ja rules downfall, yes they were hot and hitting the charts with everything they touched, but irv coulda been the biggest problem It's one thing to have sumbody best interests at heart, it's another thing to stop all together When ja wasn't doing nothing ppl forgot how hot he was and that he couldn't miss, and I felt like any song or music video good or bad could only help not hurt, but ja just stopped Stop making records, stopped making videos, he vanished from the public eye If this is what you love to do, you don't need to clash with irv, you're the artist, put the shit out on the streets if you have to and keep your relevancy alive Blood in my eye was a mixtape, def jam turned it into a album and it still went gold Like dude, if you got it, what's the point of holding on to it?? And God forgive me for saying this, I don't want ja rule music when he's gone, it's pointless Put that shit out now and let the public determine rather it's hot or not, you can't perform a hot song when you're dead

100% Irv and his money chasing held him back. Ja Is signed and owned. He wanted to keep relevant while the times was changing but as u can see Irv thought it would be throwing away music if we the consumers heard it for free...

Both be havin valid points on the murderinc doc they were talkin bout the grammys Irv goes “name all the rappers wit a grammy” Rule was like “yea Will Smith” lol 😂 Irv wanted the streets and Ja wanted the 🌎. The first street rapper to aim for major pop success daring to be different. GOTTA LOVE THAT!!!
