Have u ever dealt wit a "irv Gotti" typa nigga 😩??! When u don't even want revenge or bad feelings . u just want him to move on 🏳️..be happy..be great just without u..holding onto u..that man showed who he was on drink champs.. ego tripping?? Irv need to let her go forward into her own independence. They did great together..#1 projects for several CONSISTENT SUMMERS..but she literally doesn't owe Murda inc or irv Gotti anything (anymore). She made them millions and hes been making money off her publishings/ masters for over 20 yrs..I've been wit a "irv Gotti" and it's exhausting becuz the "u owe ME/ I made u" part. He has to let it go and let that girl be great.. make another ASHANTI...if he can smh. I like Ashanti as a person and she's definitely professional and EARNED her place in hip hop/r&b history. ALOT of those early 2000s singers and female artist haven't lasted as long as she has.

People forget how commercially successful Ashanti was back then: - World Record for Fastest/Biggest Debut Album for a Female Artist (Billboard and Guinness World Record) - "Foolish" went #1 for 11 weeks and one of the greatest selling songs of all time - 1st solo artist in history to have 2 top spots on Billboard Hot 100 - 1st solo artist in history to have 3 top spots on the Billboard Hot 100 - The World's top selling female artist of 2002 - Billboard Woman of the Year 2002 - 4 #1 Hits on the Billboard Hot 100 (including the songs that Jennifer Lopez stole from and tried to take credit for due to Irv Gotti evil politics) - A profusion of awards including many Bilboard, American Music Awards and a Grammy Etc Ashanti could've continued to have global succes, but the music industry did her wrong plus the federal government when they had investigated Irv Gotti and Murda Inc. Ashanti should've had global stardom longevity like Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Rihanna and Britney Spears for the 2000s decade. But Ashanti's first year in the music industry was enough and many artists have not accomplished what she did in their whole career. Funfact: Ashanti was supposed to be a 90s Pop star and was supposed to rival Brandy, Britney Spears and many teenage Pop stars, but she didn't want to be a teenage Pop star and want from label to label. I think she was signed to Bad Boys with Diddy. She also had a full ride scholarship to the prestigious Ivy League Princeton University 😲😲😲 Nonetheless Ashanti is a legend.

To all the people asking if they had sex please watch the interview again. It may be hard to believe, but some people aren’t comfortable talking about who they slept with publicly in a crass manor. They had a situation, but she was not his girlfriend. He had a lot of women he dealt with, including her , but their situation was never that deep. To be honest it seems like the situation could have been a HR nightmare due to the power dynamics at play. Plus, the manipulation that was involved was sick.

I don’t believe they didn’t have a relationship. I think Ashanti doesn’t want to admit she slept with him while he was legally a married man & she doesn’t want it to look like she slept with him to be bigger in her career. I get it! Everyone knew they were an item back then. The whole Murda Inc camp said it. Angie didn’t even believe it. We all make mistakes at a young age & have regrets. But use it as a learning experience instead of denying it all together. I believe Irv was obnoxious in his delivery but it was his truth. It was his story to tell. I do believe he used manipulation as a tactic being upset. That’s just how I see it!

My respect for Ashanti just increased EXPONENTIALLY. Such an elegant, classy, and poised way to handle being blindsided from someone you once trusted. Even scarier when that person has the ability to effect your 💰. She has handled this entire situation like a consummate professional. SO proud of her, and I hope some of the new ladies coming up now are paying attention, because this is a Master Class on how to do it properly.

What Ashanti said is exactly what I thought it was. She was between 19-21 when this happened because it happened before her 1st album came out which came out when she was 21. He was at least 30. But forget about the age difference the power dynamics were no where near balanced. She was young, impressionable, easy to manipulate, and did what she needed to advance her career. That man had power and influence and he used it period.

@@NB-nh2sf And I’m now in my 30’s and I understand that a 19-21 year old is still a child. I’m not about to hold it against her what she did at 19-21, with a man with power and influence, that can change her life who was telling her he was separated. I’m not excusing her but I can definitely see how she can find herself in this situation now that I’ve lived a little.

I feel like she holds back so much and that's her training from being in the business so long. Most artists now don't even need to be baited to unload secrets and throw jabs. She's that old school professional who is just about her business and her life not industry mess. Who do I believe, it's perception so both sides must have some truths but I'm glad she cleared some things up
