Fun Fact. He was The First Guest On The First Episode Of 106 & Park. May He Rest In Peace. He needs to be Inducted Into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

To think that this wonderful artist, Luther, isn't inducted in the Hall of Fame is disgraceful. He was and will always remain a part of my life...the happiest times of my life. Luther, your voice will never be replaced. He is the Hall of Fame!!! God bless and continue to rest in our Lord's loving arms 🙏🏻❤️

Luther was 50 years old, 12 multi-platinum/platinum/gold albums deep and 4 Grammys to his name, and he was just getting started. Right up to the end he _still_ proved that he can rock with the best of the best, and to this day no one has come close. Held down a genre for three decades. And his legacy continues to live on today. #RIPLutherVandross

I think the problem was the yo yo dieting. I saw Luther in Wembley 1987, he was thin like this. In 1989 I saw him again and he was very heavy. The rapid weight loss and gain happened several times over his career. He was known to have high blood pressure and diabetes which are risk factors for stroke which unfortunately he had in 2003.

That were the perfect time to have an older legend to seat in front of the youth to lecture them about real music as i stated many times me coming from Ayiti to see how for the past twenty years what happen to BET what happen to our R&B music what happen to106 and park what happen to rap city, now we love and hip hop thats not our culture and i need to talk to Ms Red owner of viacom things have to change for my people for the youth to have a better sence of goods for they future and not garbage and that come from me and my late 33° degree late father from Ayiti and my late friend and mentor, Mr Kenneth Silverbush may both rest in peace with the most high...

Luther Vandross is my favorite singer of all-time, and this interview was 4 years before he passed away in 2005, and this is the era I want to remember him from. This was also when Luther was really himself at the time of this interview on BET's 106 and park in 2001. But then after that he had and suffered that stroke in 2003, and he was no longer the same or the Luther like from this 2001 interview, and the Luther Vandross from this 2001 interview is what I like and want to know and remember as one of my favorite singers. I really wish that Luther had stayed the same and looked like this and not had that stroke in 2003, because he was such a handsome and well-dressed man with style like from this interview, and he was one of the greatest singers with such a wonderful voice. Luther does of course even look good and in better health from this 2001 interview, and I also think had he still took better care of his health and kept his weight down like this, he probably would not have suffered or had that stroke in 2003 and still be alive today. And I say this because Luther had gained back alot of the weight that caused his stroke at the time, and he was also disabled and confined to a wheelchair afterwards, and his life was never the same like this and it was not a good situation for him at the time. So for that reason I do say that it's good that Luther passed away in 2005 and was better off, so that we can all remember him like this before his 2003 stroke, and this is how I want to remember him. Luther maybe deceased and gone, but his music legacy still lives on and he's also remembered from this 2001 interview, and again I say that this is how I want to remember him. Kinda does make me feel like he's still alive whenever I watch this 2001 interview as well, and this 2001 interview even shows that he was well outspoken just by listening to his voice.
