I've had my Fumuto drain valve with the safety retaining clip for a total of 40k miles. Makes changing oil a breeze and will solve your problem of the plate being in the way. Made in Japan too! I also got the hose attachment to plug it in to the valve so it goes directly to a container for disposal.

Nice. I have the same tray. I got it because my EL header started to melt the plastic one. When I didn't see the new tray was touching my header, and started to melt it too. So i needed up getting some spacers and dropped it 1/3 of an inch. Works great now. Only thing, it traps so much heat under the hood.

It’s not the cover, it’s the actual hole that would need to be resized. Not a big deal though. I’m sure a fumoto oil plug would help with this so you can position it towards the opening.

I was looking to get one of these for a while now! I did not realize there was a black option! I was also worried about clearance with the Killer B oil pan. You're videos are literally always answering my questions. Also, as for the Titanium Works Hardware, how are you getting specific bolts for each of your needs? Are you doing custom orders? The swaintech coating is an option you can select directly from killer b. It’s a pricey add on, but I think it’s worth the investment. No I didn’t switch on purpose. When my shop did the oil pan, they just used the stock Subaru filter. I’ll be switching back to the roki filter next oil change. And no worries! I welcome the questions. It’s why I do all of this!

Have you run the plate against snow? We get heavy snow in the Midwest and I already tore off one of my fender brackets by the tire and really debating this purchase for the 2020 STi. Since install, any issues? Appreciate you doing this video. I didn’t know they made skids for the 2020.

I haven’t due to this being my weekend car. It doesn’t see snow anymore haha. I can say that it would help up to much harsher hits than the stock pan since the tbw is held in by bolts as opposed to plastic clips. Much better protection. I haven’t had any issues at all since install. No extra noises or anything. It’s been top notch.

Install at the rear bolt first going forward.

Why not notch the under tray to permit the oil pan to drain as intended? A set of tin snips a Dremel tool and a rattle can and it will look unaltered. Having to remove the under tray just seems to surrender an important feature of having this type of under tray. Likewise a new access cover can be made to fit the new altered opening, DIY or a shop. You will also save the titanium hardware. Just a few thoughts.

I thought of that, but more work than I care to do. I might take a stab at the fumoto drain plug again. Attached the drain hose to it and it would be a simple resolution.

@@Scoobyfreak86 Yes the simple solution is quite often the best 👍. I assumed such s drain plug was not an option here, clearance. I too try to use the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) principle as often as possible.

Interesting question, but I think that if the hardened OEM steel can bend and even crack in that situation, a thin aluminum sheet isn't gonna stop it.

Did they include the spacers? I ask because I have an ETS header and might need spacers but worried that it won't fit the ETS headers... I think the ETS header is bigger. Will have to call TBW

It’s nice man but that’s a pain to remove every time for the oil change. They should of thought that through better before making a product. It doesn’t have that much benefit and you don’t even see it but overall it looks pretty cool

As I explained, stock oil pan it works just fine. I’m running an aftermarket oil pan so it’s a different circumstance. Has nothing to do with the lbw tray.
