From the TC website: "The Alter Ego Delay is a special version of the Flashback Delay which has two custom factory sounds (the Deluxe Memory Man and Binson Echorec) that are not available in the Flashback Delay. Instead of these two settings, the Flashback Delay has the Lo-Fi and Dynamic Delay settings that are not available on the Alter Ego. Apart from this (and the color differences), the two pedals are identical hardware-wise, and the Alter Ego works with all Flashback Delay TonePrints."

@Kris West: It can not oscillate by the time you buy it, but I'm pretty sure there's toneprints which can make that work, so well...yes it can oscillate. (no guarantee!)

I bought this last Feb from PGS, I love this pedal. Your demo gave me some more ideas even though I have my sound dialed in. Thanks for the demo.

I recorded the guitar directly to the computer in Nuendo's software and then when I'm editing I put the video and the sound together.

I wish we could hear if the Echorec settings allow for non-warble feature, as was the effect of the unit PGS sampled. I mean it's cool I guess, but I want to play Pink Floyd stuff with this pedal, the main reason I'm buying it. I don't want to be stuck with an age-worn decay, quaint as it is. Otherwise, very decent demo, thanks.

Actually, Dialoquese is incorrect. The apostrophe on Ego implies nonexistent ownership. He could have said "These Alter Egos." To say "These Alter Ego's" he would have need to follow through providing some other noun for the Alter Ego to own. For instance, he could have said "This Alter Ego's delays" Or he could have stated "These Alter Egos' delays." You have clearly demonstrated that possession is as butchered by many teachers today as is plurality. If you must correct someone, be right.

Are the repeats on the DMM setting quite a bit quieter than the others? I picked up this pedal a few weeks ago and even with mix dimed even the first repeat is a little quieter than the dry signal. How about yours?

It would be great if people would start listening to the content of what others have to say instead of being sidetracked by inconsequential surface imperfections in their grammar or spelling. But since you want to play grammar police- "These Alter Ego's have a lot of different delays" is incorrect as well. “Egos” would be the correct plural, and does not have an apostrophe; “Ego’s” is possessive or a conjugation of “Ego is.” There, now the world is such a better place isn’t it?

The various settings are a by product of the piece of equipment. The subject of the sentence - (as well as the video), is The Alter Ego. This is a SINGULAR unit. It's companion modifier is the verb "has" - - not "have". You'd have to say ..."These Alter Ego's have a lot of different delays" for the sentence to make sense grammatically. The difference between one - and several is being sabotaged by today's English teachers.
