Yes, it is simply the Alter Ego being fed some volume swells. We used a volume pedal but you can use the guitar's volume control too. Thanks, PGS

just arrived my alter ego to my home in chile i love it de echorec settings it's amazing, its quite difficult to control the modulation but when you achieve it it's awesome, the MOD setting its so smooth amazing pedal

I wish they would let you guys make a 4x version of this. The custom settings are incredible on the alter ego, but a lot of players love that added amount of toneprints, extra looping and expression pedal especially. If I had the cash I'd grab both...

The Catlinbread Echorec SHOULD be a better Echorec pedal - that all it does. The TC Alter Ego does Echorec and a ton besides. If you want the best Echorec emulator around - go buy the Catlinbread - its a great pedal, if you want a multi-delay unit that does a very good Echorec on top of a ton of other delays - and for less money - the TC pedal is the one.

If there were controls for it to adjust the modulation on the Echorec setting, I would definately bought this one, but I think I will stick to the El Capistan. It's a bit though to play some Pink Floyd songs with so much vibrato... :/
