Yes, but you would have to programme the unit to harmonise to the key and scale that your song is using. Another option for using this kind of product in your studio could also be the voice works plus. Works the same, same quality but without the pedals for live control. Hope that helps!

Hey Laura, you got my money tonight and I even went to World Music since they sponsored your video. You sure made it look easy,I only wish you could deliver it and show me how to use it. Wish me luck, it's on it's way.

I plan on ordering one within the next couple weeks. Looks like programming through the device interface is cumbersome. They have free software on their site that makes programming much easier.

It's been set a bit low, but it does sound a bit better if the gap isn't so big. You see it modulates your voice to get the backing voice so it's all relative.

It doesn't do anything to make your voice stay in tune. It's primarily meant for harmonies and back up vocals. For people that have to work a lone, this is great.

I do a lot of John Denver, Jim Croce etc. So I obviously do a lot of finger-style guitar work. Will this work with finger-style accompaniment ? The harmonizer I work with is strictly chord driven and doesn't work well with finger-style accompaniment.

@CDAFishboy not really dude, you actually have to have good sense of pitch to be able to use these fx. If you have bad ears, bad pitch control...you're screwed.

guys, it's a cool product, it reads the chords, maybe you can get someone to help with the clicks, if you find it difficult. Hey but sure beats have to choose your singing notes carefully. The male/female tonality of the voice sounds good too. I would get a TC ELECTRONIC if I was doing a solo set.

HELO . Question about the Hrmoniizr , what happens if the tone is not entirely deliberate, whether it gives an accurate third sound (whether the device is fixed on a precise adjustment) or get along with forgery of sound and gives third sound remains intentional ?
@trunkeight16 жыл бұрын
THis is a good point. I gonna demo'd this at a gig, Duo, bass acoustic guitar, to see if it will fly. It can go 2 ways: Either they think the bass player is singing great harmonies, or they'll realise and may not believe a word I sing. But then again, its a pub... I'll let ya know, but I reckon the people MOST effected by the songs, will feel a bit weird hearing something not real.
@omgutt22214 жыл бұрын
with the hamony holder, can you hold a tone that is not your harmony, but your real voice and still ceep singing?? it doesn't have to be the harmony that is holding??

When I played on stage with my TC. My mic would pick up my guitar a send out garbage through the mains. I loved the way my vocals sounded but I had to run my guitar amp at a very low volume to fix the problem, then I couldn't hear my guitar over the drums, our drummer is super loud.

A clear distinction should be made between effects and correction. While e.g. reverb and delay add space but don't change your voice in any way, pitch correction and processing DO change your voice (enhance it, or better said - correct your mistakes) so it SHOULD be considered cheating. A paralel with guitar could go like this: while distortion pedal is not cheating, an autotune pedal (if such exists) is.
@Meteotrance14 жыл бұрын
wow the harmonizer is so good, compare to some vocal shit i have used on software or on the new boss roland gadget, digitech do also good job but this is very good.

I've heard this thing in the real world. The engineer hadn't really ventured deep enough into its ability but it sounded slick enough. I consider that to be due to the fact that this is both an acoustic demo and 99% wet in the mix. If this was set at a decent mix level and put into a gig setting, i would have more faith. Also you must consider the degradation of a youtube upload compared to real sound. As a FoH Engineer i wouldn't throw my toys at being asked to implement this into a show.

well with all of this tech you can make things that you can't possibly make in a band. you'd need 10 drummers/percussionists to make an extremely fast/complex beat. you can make electronic music with an acoustic guitar for example. and while it may require less skill, it requires lots of creativity.

There is noticeable delay in the male harmony signal. This box is probably the best vocal processor for the money, but this demo isn't all that good. The last demo I saw for this box had me salivating for the thing.
@nickeeboy13 жыл бұрын
Ok Ok I admit it, I program MIDI sequencing, do live to 2track rec mixes and do post production stuff. You must be quite a tech type person to use this box, but it makes you sound good if you know what you're doing. The players in the bands I jam with just want to plug in the power, play and sing and expect to sound like the Eagles or Beach Boys. Not going to happen, unless someone plays MIDI harmony notes into that MIDI In port on the back of the unit.

A "step" in the right direction, but you really need to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time here. There seems to be so much to remember and process mentally as you play; and in a live situation this would leave me out in left field as I went through the 20 or so songs in my set. I would need a crib sheet on my forearm like quarterbacks do to keep it all in line. =)

Its interesting how some folks in the comments below seem to think this device is somehow "cheating". Generally, those people have decided some equipment is not cheating (multitrack recording for example) and some is (the voicelive). They've drawn that line in a totally arbitrary manner.

i can agree with you emeto, but i do hate how not musically inclined people see these things, people absolutely hate when a singer cant hit their high notes on stage like in the recordings, i really think if singers cant sell it on stage they shouldnt record it as such but if they have this they can be a sham on stage and in recording

@CyysVideos because jesus christ have you ever tasted the magic feeling of working harmonies for real with a real band of signer? its simply amazing, to be 2-3-4 people and sing together, you feel the emotion and you connect with the singers, more than ever... And its a lota work, but at the end of the process when everything is finally in place, and you start signing, its magical... but then you got this women saying "look! zus pluge yoo miic in heere an yu gut all the job donne duuh"....
