HI Anne, Thank you for this video. It inspired me to order a TCA peel from Platinum and try it for myself. Have to say I was quite nervous, really burned when I applied it, frosted up after one application, so left it there. Day three, my face is really tight and dry, no peeling as yet. Im glad you made this video so I can keep referring to it. Ive only put Avene'e on my face and Emu oil so far. Might try some Retinol tonight, if Im brave enough. Thanks for all the info Jen

I just did the TCA peel from the same manufacturer. And I was the one that did a 1.5 derma pen. The last time that I did the derma pen was a month ago. The only difference that I noticed with the TCA peel was absolutely no frosting. I think because of the pen, which I have been using faithfully since June, got my skin used to an assault. I think using a peel in between my pen times (every 5 weeks), just makes my skin better. I am trying to get rid of ice pick acne scars, so I also did the cross TCA peel which uses 30% TCA on a toothpick into the scar. It went just like the directions said and I did get frosting with that! I actually think that I will be able to stop using foundation in another 6 months or so!

Hi! I did see overall improvement to my skin (less dark spots, healthier, firmer looking skin). Yes, I think you could. There were only 2 days of peeling that I stayed in for. I can't remember (this was done a few years ago, but believe it was days 3 &4) I do say in the video which days were the worst as far as most peeling (it's towards the end when I show what each day of peeling looks like) but yes, I'd do what you suggested and just apply the peel so at days 3 & 4 you are not at work if possible. I had no frosting. your video was very informative. im gonna use my glycolic and let it sit before I go shower. I hope I peel. I will be purchasing what you used next. it seems more potent. thank you!

+wendy Jan Hi! I was very happy with this peel and had a lot of skin just roll off in the warm water. Hopefully the glycolic and warm water will help yours peel off as well (also I used a retinol at night). I will definitely do this again and try an extra layer ;)) Thanks so much for watching! xoxo

Thank you so much! I do have some lines above my upper lip and it's hard to tell if just the one TCA peel helped much with those...I think if I did a series of peels it probably would. I am planning on doing another full face TCA peel this fall (maybe with 3 layers instead of the 2 this time). I do really think it helps to brighten and improve the complexion. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and to comment, it means a lot to me! xoxo

Thank you! I would start with a product that helps to build collagen (a retinol, retinaldehyde, retin a, or peptide products are all good for building collagen). I like dermarolling with a 0.25 or a 0.5mm roller as well (the 0.5 helps to build collagen when used 1x every week or two). I think that's where I would start personally and I hope this helps! Lots of love xoxo

Thanks for this video. I have been performing TCA Peels for years since I was 25 so 7 years now. I did a 15% peel last week answer my skin healed extremely fast along with using EMU oil l. Yes, rinsing with cold water is a good idea. I do always rinse my TCA off even though it is self neutralizing. Ya, if you skip to the end of the video I show each day and how much peeling I had. There was one day I peeled the most and I think it was 1 or 2 days I said I stayed at home (I did this video 2 or 3 years ago and don't remember exactly, but if you watch the last 1/4 of the video you should see) xoxo

Q:hello Anne-marie-had you considered applying the fade bright as platinum skin care had suggested, you didn’t mentioned you had done any pre-treatment before hand. They are stating Do do this treatment 2-3 weeks before the peel. I’m unsure if it’s necessary or if they are just trying to sell more product. I watch another video where someone applied tca, and they applied some glycol treatment along with alcohol before treatment. You primarily washed with cleanser and then alcohol and then applied the tca. If you did a pre-treatment i didn’t notice.
@BeautyByAnneMarie6 жыл бұрын
Your right, I did just wash my face and then use a alcohol wipe on it first. I'll have to read up on their fade bright treatment. I do typically use both retinol (or retin-a) and glycolic products in my skin care routine which also helps to prep the skin by increasing cell turnover and getting rid of the old dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Worth reading about the fade bright product to see what all it does, thank you for mentioning it! Lots of love xoxo

@BeautyByAnneMarie8 жыл бұрын
+MrsLoretta Hi Loretta! I only use the lowest strength (13%) which is safe for at home use and am very careful with it ;) It did sting but not as bad as at home glycolic or lactic peels do on me and it was much more effective than those as well. I have done tca peels on my forehead, chest and backs of the hands before with great results but this was my first full face one so I definitely went with the lowest strength which can be repeated every 2 weeks (I will most likely only repeat it once a month or once every couple months). I hope you have a great day hun! Lots of love!

Hi Anne! I have so many thoughts and questions that I don't know where to begin! So, I'll just list them as I think of them and apologize for such a long post. :-) First, I don't remember which video we spoke on about my using Retinol and working my way up to tolerating Retin A... so I'll say here that I have been adding moisturizers and anti-aging creams and serums to the Retinol product I recently started using. It DOES seem to tame the irritation somewhat, but it requires a lot and I still look like an old crone for a couple days. I use Skinn's Collagenesis Crème Reverse creams (peptides) and Salma Hayek's Nuance line... serum, moisturizer, and creams with peptides. Ceramides and peptides seem to be most beneficial, but I still get that mask face and peeling. Hexapeptide-9 for healing seems to have enabled me to use the Retinol 3 times a week after just a few weeks. Do I HAVE to have the irritation and peeling for Retinols or Retin A to be actually effective?? If so, how much peeling indicates it's working? Now, about TCA: Why would one do these peels if already using Retinol/Retin A? Are both required for maximum potential? As in it speeds up the results so I can catch up to the results I would have had by now if I had started Retin A 20+ years ago like Jenifer? :-D How often should a person try to do TCA peels if they're also using Retinols/Retin A? How long after a peel until I could resume the Retinol/Retin A? Is the peel just a seasonal thing to remove any additional damage I may get from summer sun? Shouldn't I put it on my neck and chest too?... I wondered why you just did your face. Is this better at removing lines, wrinkles, and stimulating collagen production than Retinols/Retin A? I'm forgetting questions! lol Thank you in Advance, Anne. You and Jenifer have been so very helpful in my latest attempt at Retinol. I think I may actually be able to get back to Retin A again and tolerate it this time with what I've learned from you two.
@BeautyByAnneMarie8 жыл бұрын
Hi! Great questions! From what I have heard and read, you don't have to have all the irritation to get the results of retin a. Plus, if you exfoliate regularly you may not notice the dead skin that gets exfoliated away. I have always been irritated by both retin a and retinols and I find that mixing Weleda skin food with mine is what really cuts down on the irritation for me and makes it possible for me to use it and not look horrible. It's a thicker moisturizer, almost greasy when you put it on but soaks in by morning. I mix equal parts (maybe a touch more of the weleda). I also found a retinol face and body cream that does not irritate my skin at all (NatureWell brand) it comes in a big pump container and I use it head to toe 3 nights a week (I do not mix anything with this one) and then use retin a/weleda mix 1-2 nights a week. I wish I had started retin a/retinols long ago too, but better late than never ;)) For TCA, I have done my chest and backs of my hands before and it worked great. This was my first TCA I have done on my face and I really liked it. It takes off a few more layers than retin a in a weeks span, so I stopped my retin a/retinols a week before and didn't start using them again until a few days after all of my peeling was done (about a week after I applied the peel). I haven't tried the peel on my neck just because my neck is sensitive and I'm nervous to do it there. Maybe if I applied a single layer this lower strength 13% TCA (I did 2 layers on my face). Both retin a/retinols and TCA are for stimulating collagen, wrinkles, reducing age spots, tightening the skin...I wouldn't say better but I do like to do a TCA peel at least once a year and use retin a/retinols for maximum benefit (remember I stop one week before/after my peel). I hope I have helped some! I really appreciate you watching! xoxo

May I ask did your hands peel? If so, how long did the peeling last? And how often do you do a TCA peel on the face?
@BeautyByAnneMarie8 жыл бұрын
I've only done this deeper peel on my face this one time. My hands did peel, but it took longer for the peeling to begin than it did on my face. As I remember my hands peeled for about 4 days maybe (I was glad I did the hand peel in the winter so I could cover my hands some with long sleeves) ;)) I will most likely do the face peel at least 1-2 times a year (although it can be done more often than that). I think the tca peel does really improve the skin. xoxo

+Kathy Hi Kathy! Well, I did not wait, I used my retin a right up to the night before the peel, but I think they recommend that retin a is stopped a week or so before (I read something about that in the instructions after I applied it of course). I did use retinol then starting the 2nd night after the peel and throughout the peeling process at night and went back to my retin a a few nights after all of my peeling was done. If I had irritation from the retinol at all I would have just used my Avene product that I used right after my peel which is very healing and gentle. I hope this helps some. Thanks so much for watching, I appreciate it! xoxo

Hi Anne-Marie - I just read that the glycolic acid was not as good as the TCA peels. I just ordered 10% glycolic before I read your comments. I was wondering why the two layers of TCA and do you think I can do this with the 10% glycolic. Thanks - Deb
@BeautyByAnneMarie7 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm not sure if glycolic should be layered or not. Probably googling it or contacting the company you purchased it from and asking is best. Since I use a lower strength TCA (13%) they said in the instructions that up to a maximum of 5 layers could be used for a deeper peel. This was the first full face peel I did so I stuck with 2 layers to be on the safe side :)) xoxo
@PlatinumSkinCare7 жыл бұрын
Deb Boy hydroxy acids are not for layering. They only work on a specific layer at a time. TCA has the ability to continue to move deeper each layer. With hydroxys, all you could do with a 2nd layer is prolong the amount of time the acid can stay "active" on your skin. *Keep the pH down longer.

Question-i usually go swimming twice a week. How does this work with swimming. I would of course use lots of sunscreen 50 probably. Other than that, do you think swimming will be ok. Or would you suggest for me to email the company. The other Q; should we also put Vitamin C, and A and maybe an antioxidant on afterwards
@BeautyByAnneMarie6 жыл бұрын
I would definitely contact the company and ask them that. I have no clue if you need to wait to get in a pool or not (good question!). I'd have to re-watch to see exactly what I did after this peel (I do daily updates until the peeling is done and this was almost 2 years ago) I believe I used the avene product which calms the skin that I show the first night and then I applied a light retinol (gentle one by cerave) and then retin-a for a few nights to speed up the peeling process. I did not apply any vitamin c and I would be careful with it since they can sometimes sting the skin. You have so many good questions! Lots of love to you xoxo

Hey Anne. Thanks for sharing this incredible video. I just have a few questions to ask. After how many days should I repeat the peel? Is a normal moisturiser good enough? Is it compulsory to wipe the face with alcohol like you did at the start or is it ok to apply it directly to a cleansed face?
@BeautyByAnneMarie7 жыл бұрын
Hi, according to the booklet that came with my peel, they say with the 13% peel you should only do 1 layer once every 1-2 weeks and then 2-3 layers once every 2-4 weeks and 3-5 layers once every 4-7 weeks, so it just goes by how many layers you are doing as to how often you can use it. You probably can apply directly to a cleansed face (I have before) but in this video I kept to the instructions that they gave with the peel which was to wipe with alcohol. Hope this helps! Lots of love xoxo

Hi Anne-Marie I have been following you and your beauty tips which has got me very motivated to try some of the things you do like the derma roller, skin products and would like to try the TCA peel u have used in this video. I was wondering is this the first time you have applied this treatment? Does it sting in anyway with just the two layers? Can you use it directly under the eyes? Also I have an olive complexion and some sun damage ie hyperpigmentation, freckles and maybe a few sun spots. I am wondering do you think this peel will be okay for me? I was going to go to a doctor who was going to use this on me. He said it would greatly improve my skin tone. I live in Australia so was going to order this TCA peel online to try at home. I was worried about it hurting also so never did it. I can't remember the strength he was going to use either. Perhaps from memory 17% but I'm not 100% sure about that. Thanks for all the great tips!
@BeautyByAnneMarie7 жыл бұрын
Hi! This was the first time I applied a TCA to my face (I had done my hands and chest before). It did sting with the 2 layers of the 13% but nothing horrible. I used it up to my orbital bone (you can see in the video where I applied it under the eye area). It is suppose to help with pigmentation and even the skin tone and I believe it is fine to use on all skin tones. I would start with a low percentage (like I did) with the 13% and read the instructions that come with it carefully and you should be fine! I think it's a great peel (best one I have tried -- I have never had any professional treatments done though). I hope this helps! Lots of love xoxo

Thanks so much for your response Anne-Marie. By the way I love all the information you show us and you look fabulous and I can definitely see how the derma roller has been working for you over the years and definitely the TCA peel with your chest! Have you ever used it on your neck? I will definitely be ordering it from Platinum. I'm a bit undecided as to the size bottle (our dollar is much lower than yours so things cost more - but all good - it hopefully will be worth it). Many of the products you recommend cannot be purchased her in Australia. They simply don't see to offer as many products that have active ingredients at such amazing prices. We pay through the nose :( I was also wondering about the derma roller use. I thought I had the 0.25 at home (purchased many years ago but hardly used) but looked on the box and saw that was only 0.15! Anyway I will purchase a new 0.25 and 0.5 (we also cannot buy many things from Amazon in Australia which is really annoying). In my box of instructions they actually tell you to apply the active ingredients before you derma roll then to apply a soothing moisturiser after you have finished. With you, I know that you don't apply until afterwards. I have also seen these instructions via a beauty place that sells the rollers and says to do the same thing. What do you think of this? Chees love Denise xx

1)Is there any difference choosing different brands(affordable)...will this have any low efficiency ? 2) I read that chemical peels also depends not only on % but also on its pH ....lesser pH it acts more deeper in less time more the pH lesser deeper it goes and take more time......?

Thank you so much for sharing this information with us! It has been super helpful as I research doing a TCA peel myself. So, did you end up doing a series of peels? I did 2 lavers of 15% TCA I week ago. I didn't frost at all and only a very thin later of skin peeled. How long did you, or would you recommend, waiting before applying a second peel?
@BeautyByAnneMarie7 жыл бұрын
I think I waited about 3-4 minutes between each layer. I haven't done another 2 layer one yet, but have done a few 1 layer which gave a lot of flaking (more than any other peel I have tried) without the down time of 2 days with the 2 layers I did here. I can't remember what the booklet said that they sent but I want to say they said a 2 layer peel could be done every 3-4 weeks. Lots of love xoxo

Hi, I haven't done another one yet that is 2 layers again (or more). I did do a few that are just one light layer for light peeling (better than I get with a glycolic or lactic acid light peel) and really didn't have any super bad days that I couldn't be seen. I do like this percentage really well and can always add a layer (up to 5) if I want it a deeper peel. I will probably do a deep one again this fall/winter when it's cold and I don't mind staying in for 2 days peeling ;)) xoxo

I had to watch it back since this was a few years ago now. I did apply the retinol as my only product those nights to speed up the process of the peel. Thank you! As I recall, I used my Avene the first day/night after the peel, then did my cerave retinol which is a moisturizing retinol at night (no additional moisturizer with it). In the mornings after I used my PTR gel I think I just applied my avene during the day. I typically only use the Avene after I dermaroll or after this peel, but it can be used anytime to calm and repair the skin. I hope this helps! xoxo

Hi Anne! I did a 13% one layer peel on my chest last month....did 2 layers this month. Skin looks brighter, but still sun spotty:( How many chest layers did you do to see sun spots lessen/lighten? Platinum skincare said do not do 20% on chest. Would love to hear what you did. Thank you!!!🤗❤️
@BeautyByAnneMarie6 жыл бұрын
I did do the 20% on my chest which took awhile to peel (longer than the 13% on my face). Personally, I would try more than 1 layer of the 13%. I have heard that multiple layers of a low strength TCA can be more effective than a higher strength peel. Or you could just repeat the 1 layer of 13% every 2-3 weeks until you get the results you want. xoxo

+Robyn Hi Robyn! I have heard the Obagi blue peel is a TCA peel and think doctors charge several hundred dollars for that. I will be adding another layer the next time for an even deeper peel...I was very happy with it! Thanks so much for watching! xoxo

Hi, can you please explain more about the rubbing alcohol? Mine is 100% and I am not sure whether it needs to be diluted and if so how/how much. Any advice appreciated. Regards, Lisa Sykes

I think mine is 91 or 97% and I use it straight so you can probably just use yours straight too. For a quick wipe over the skin to disinfect it will be fine. xoxo

I have just done it this one time (2 layers of the 13%) on my full face. I show the daily progress in the video and the final result. Since this video I've done 2 or 3 of just a 1 layer 13% peel which is just a very light peel. xoxo

Not sure I understand the question... I just used my normal makeup remover when I did wear makeup. Only went without makeup for 2 days when the peeling was really bad. xoxo

Beauty By Anne-Marie so you was able to use make up remover even before the peel is gone? I thought we cant use anything to remove the face until finish peeling

Hello again Anne Marie! I am currently applying fade bright (from platinum skin care) & 35% vit c two times a day and also retinol nightly. I’ve been applying this for 1.5 weeks already. Is it safe to do platinum skin care Tca peel 13% today?? Or am i supposed to stop my current regimen, give it time, and do the tca peel? Thanks you 🙏🏻😊

I've not used that product myself, but I did use retinol before I did my peel (I apply my retinol at night) and have read retinol helps to prep the skin for a peel. You might want to email them though and get their answer before doing the peel. xoxo

Did u wear make up with it? How bad irritation?thank you for great video
@BeautyByAnneMarie6 жыл бұрын
I was able to put on makeup all but 2 of the days (those were the 2 days with the most peeling). Not that bad as far as irritation...it had the burning sensation when it was on the skin for the 3-5 minutes but then that died down. xoxo
