Thank you so much. A great reaction.... pretty much how I feel every time I hear it. The spirit filled journey Dan takes us on is actually why GOD inspired this to be written so long ago. I can imagine Newton up in heaven jumping up and down screaming and shouting "YES YES FINALLY EXPRESSED HOW I MENT IT!!!!" Every day I take this journey accompanied by Dan. Through out the day I watch reactions and listen to other of his productions. It never gets old. I always have to raise my hand in praise. I'm a 64 yo country girl who only listened rarely to metal..... now I'm so pleased that I am enjoying more and more CHRISTIAN METAL music. The power fits my soul!!! I've listened to so many of his songs from all genres and am always moved. I have not found 1 bad remark about this remarkable young man. I really enjoy all his commentary. I'm especially found of his apology!!!! If you have not watched it, may I suggest doing a reaction to STAR SPANGLED BANNER, followed by his APOLOGY!!!!! He also did AMERICAN TRILOGY as a tribute to his dad who had passed away 9 days prior of cancer.... so well performed, even through the visible tears. I pray daily for GODS FAVOR AND PROTECTION over this bold young Christian man. I'm so blown away by the number of lives he has touched by being obedient to GOD and sharing just this one song. It really thrills me to see the KINGDOM IMPACT this has made. It is a world wide revival. I have even seen shorts commercials in Chinese and Japanese using Dan's AG for music!!!!! To me this is another prime example of what scripture says.... MY WORD SHALL NOT RETURN VOID. IT WILL ACOMPLISH WHAT IT WAS SET OUT TO DO. So I liked and subscribed to your channel. @@terryeallen-stoda2152 I was only a year old when Simon and Garfunkel released The Sound of Silence, but I've loved it from the time I was old enough to appreciate it. I discovered Disturbed in like 2010 when I first heard the song Indestructible. I wasn't even a heavy metal fan back then, but I liked the quality of David Draiman's voice, and being very ill at the time I adopted Indestructible as my anthem. The first time I heard Disturbed's rendition of The Sound of Silence I was walking my dog listening to the Immortalized album (2015) for the first time. I didn't read any reviews or look at the song titles, so I was completely caught off guard and blown away when I heard The Sound Of Silence. I knew Draiman had a unique voice, but I wasn't prepared for just how truly superior and mature his voice could sound. Draiman voice started pure and hauntingly, then he masterfully built up the level of drama using his signature rasp/growl, and then a poetically gorgeous finish. Standing there on the sidewalk, with my dog sitting on my feet, I must have looked like a goof, because I listened to the song at least three more times in a row, and I'm not a person who is easily impressed or emotionally moved.

Congratulations! You are perfectly normal because everybody has about the same reaction. This song was my first introduction to Dan and I was just oddly curious how a metal singer thought he could sing this hymn with the reverence it deserves. Not only did he leave me with my mouth wide open in astonishment, he convinced me that Metal Music is a valid style of music. Always thought it was just bothersome noise and screamingI I have since watched many of his other covers and haven't found a bad one yet. He is a one-in-a-million talent. An important true fact of this song. John Newton wrote a poem. Eventually the poem made it sway over to the Americas and after actually the African slaves turned it into the song that we know the amazing grace so the combination of John Newton and slaves created the song
