Honestly the whiff on the zacian by 10 could have at least a tiny bit of good considering tord cant add any more energy to it so its not as much of a threat and is also a bench lock but at the same time the prize trade just isnt worth it

Tord Reklev needs to be BANNED from Pokémon TCG. He is a known slow player and therefore a cheater. People need to STOP featuring him and actually do something about his manipulative play. WATCH his match against Alberto Vengeva where Tord INTENTIONALLY slow played when he knew he couldn’t win. TERRIBLE sportsmanship. Tord is NO CHAMPION in my books

Too harsh. Yes he is being a problem. However I’ve sat and timed every action in several of his stream rounds. He almost never takes more than 15 seconds on actions, probably as often as most players. He does everything “within the rules”, he just plays in an absurd way, considering his hand for 6 seconds before playing a nothing card for 10 seconds, shuffling 8, considering hand for 6, and doing a nothing card again. He has quite obviously planned out how long he can take on each action to not trigger a slow play call. It’s very hard to point to a single action that is too slow, the problem is his play on aggregate uses one of the most turbo action heavy decks, and the strange playstyle with nothing fast is enough to make games take upwards of 35-40 minutes. I believe his play should result in penalties, but the problem isn’t him, it’s the judging staff and more realistically the rule book. The rule book gives quite vague definitions of slow play. Tord seems to have somehow convinced himself that his weird action maximizing isn’t slow play. It definitely is a different type of slow play than what we’ve seen before. I should be clear that you’ve never been required to take prizes. If I am up 1-6 and my opponent isn’t conceding, I’m super allowed to thin my deck for iono proofing and pass. Tord’s play is closer to that than taking 30 seconds per action. I think it’s wrong to do, but the judging staff seems to agree with him. What really needs to happen is either the judging staff needs to start giving him warnings or they need to modify the time control to make this sub-optimal. You can’t blame him for doing something the judging staff seem to have decided is okay. If they make a statement and start giving him penalties, I have enough faith in him to think he will stop having been told it’s against the rules. If they explicitly don’t do that, you really can’t blame the guy for coming to the conclusion it must be within the rules. It’s poor sportsmanship, and it definitely degrades my opinion of him, but there are much more healthy and less toxic steps to addressing it instead of raw dog banning the guy. He’s a really sweet person just making some decisions I don’t like and nobody with power is telling him it’s wrong.

My second comment, tord’s opponents are doing a terrible job as well. I’ve watched several of them play lost game states for an extra 15-20 minutes to the final prize. If they concede with enough time he can’t stall them out, he will play quickly because he doesn’t want to tie. They also need to get over best player syndrome and call a judge and voice that they think he’s slow playing. Nobody does either of those things seemingly

@@mr.fluffypantz4150 It’s kinda funny starting to watch and enjoy competitive Pokémon TCG from being an avid MTG fan. People playing MTG competitively will use anything and everything they can to get a win. It’s caused some controversy over the years with people trying to rules lawyer too much, but man it seems absent in Pokemon to call a judge
@coolyeh1017
@coolyeh1017 7 ай бұрын
@@TwistedxGamer101usually because it is agreed that all players do it even if it is infrequent (i.e. taking like 15 seconds longer to play than normal). Once you rule shake be prepared to be rule sharked into oblivion. So most of the top players just don't bother unless the judge watching thinks it is outrageous.
