I love this kind of data analysis! Thanks for putting the map together, very very useful.

Basically, if you want to avoid high crime areas in Calgary, avoid living close to the C-train. A seen on the crime map provided.

I think the crime numbers are not weighted. For example, population in Bowness is 10800, and 422 in Roxboro. So if you divide 422/4=105.5 and 10800/337=32.1, the difference is not that HUGE compared to 337/4=84.25

Woah woah woah man, don’t ask real estate agents to do actual math! That’s not how you sell a home. They don’t know how to tell the truth.

Yes they should also have a map of the crime density as these statistics per 100 people is shown for both total and violent crimes when you click on the details for any community. I used to live in North Glenmore (shown in green) and moved to Oakridge in orange (way more affordable to buy a house) but the crime density, both total and violent) is lower in Oakridge than North Glenmore. Also, for easier visualization, the colour coding should be green-yellow-orange- red not green-orange-yellow-red.

None of these neighborhoods existed when I lived there other than Mayfair. Interesting info.

Bowness here! It’s not that bad! The occasional junkie yes but it keeps the rent down lol…

How do the stats change when you look at the total crimes/violent crimes per 100 people living there? I'd love to see the top safest and most dangerous based on these values + how many people live in those areas for additional context.

All the data is in the links in the map. Population and more. Newer areas that don’t have population data are really skewed because there could be crimes there still. It’s a hard thing to nail down completely.

Where's Sunridge in all this? lol I am the Store Manager of a big retailer and we have to call 911 every day because of theft and homeless.

I can't believe Beltline is the most crime filled. It's so hard to imagine as a newcomer at least ...

Beltline has always been bad ,15 years ago it was full of sex workers and crackheads .

It's newcomers committing, not Calgarians. Go back home.

Once you’re here long enough you see it. It’s mostly homeless related crimes you see there

what about NE?

Well the city of Calgary must be paying this guy for his opinion, as a life long resident of Calgary, I can tell you that for sure Mayfair is a absolutely crime infested neighborhood with lots of homeless people, drug dealers, prostitution, and the crime that goes hand in hand
@ChamberlainGroup9 ай бұрын
City paying us? 😂 this is data from the police crime database mixed with the most current population data we could find. Appreciate you watching and commenting.🙌

@@ChamberlainGroup well that data is either manipulated or manufactured, I’ve lived in that area had my property stolen on the regular, seen the crack heads daily , the multi family units besides Phil’s pancake house is a cesspool for drugs.

i recommend not walking at night in Forest lawn. There are paranoid drug dealers intimidating some people and lots of drug addicts, a few of them violent. Avoid parks and places that you think look sketchy. At day time it is safer to walk around, but still avoid sketchy places just in case. Marlborough station at night is also really dangerous. I Wouldn't walk around that area either.

People smoking meth ( they heat up a glass pipe so whatever that is) everywhere in the Beltline. They smoke it outside my window and I hear them coughing.

If I could, I would be moving right out of kelgary? Unfortunately, I have eye specialists and other health care specialists. And I don't drive, but the worst area to live is in falconridge. The northeast part of Calgary is being take. N over by people from India if you were a white blind woman. Like me, you end up getting kicked out of cabs being attacked by your neighbors. Physically having the cops called with false app accusations. It's disgusting. Do not move to kelgare, do not move to Calgary. It is a cesspool shit hole
