I got this brand new from Amazon as a backup, so I didn't need it on all the time. The problem was, every time I turned it off it was really hard to get it to turn back on. I had to always try several times. Always stuck on boot screen, but the logo never rotated. Constant soft resets, even factory total resets. The replacement did exactly the same thing. I can't use a phone that takes 10 minutes of fighting it just to get it to turn on. If that problem didn't exist, I liked everything else about it.

They should cut back on the cameras and storage and upgrade screens and batteries. That is true in general of any phone these days. Also 5G is a scam. Better off logging on to a nearby unlocked wifi. They are everywhere.

I have a TCL Stylus 5G. TCL makes good phones. The TCL 40 XL seems too low end for me (no NFC or 5G) but solid. BTW TCL has been giving regular Android security patches and updates.

I just ordered this for $100 direct from tcl to replace my 10L which was a massive value. Unfortunately, i think my 10L from 2020 is a better phone but I just needed a quick cheap replacement as it is broken. I was disapointed in the tcl current offerings. If they had a better screen with more ram, like the 10pro, I'd be in at the 300ish mark. I think they were avoiding competiting with the samsung A series that are a great value, but i was avoiding samsung. I'd love to see a mid range value offering from them in 2024. They do a GREAT job on optimizing cheap screens.

I live in Dallas Texas metroplex 4 g is always faster than 5 g with AT&t and T-Mobile

Helio g37 is bad , the phone look good but tcl need to put a chips like dimensity 810 or snapdragon 695 and sell the phone 25$ bucks more...
