My repair went great until I was snapping the frame back on around the glass, and I heard a crunch. I got a crack in the glass that spread across the whole screen. But the LED’s work great!

Glad I said this cuz I’m gonna have to be Uber careful to make sure I don’t snap my glass. Even a millimeter off can cause this to happen.

If this is such a common problem, it's stupid that they make you move all of this stuff just to replace the part that goes bad. It should be easy access from the back.

Mine had a loud buzzing noice and the screen went off. The screen turns on, you need a flashlight to see. Could it be a faulty board instead of the LED strips? How would I test it?

i can’t get the right end acrylic brackets to line back up into the holes (that hold up the LED strips. I’ve taken them off and adjusted but the last 3 don’t want to go in… any tips?

so I replaced the leds but the screen lights up from the white light but no picture. Do you think I might have forgotten the right placement of the filters?

Do you need to apply adhesive on the strips? When flipping the tv over, how did you protect the boards?

Just PUT THE BACK BACK ON! It's not attached to the bezel... (You've probably done it already. Hopefully, it'll help the next guy...)

I have a problem with my 65 -inch smart tv tcl you can hear it but you can't see it, change the power board and it doesn't work and I don't know what to do, I think it could be the led light

Just finished this whole process up. One thing to note is that my original LED strips were glued down tight as hell and you basically had to ruin them taking them off. And after all that, it didn't fix my problem. Backlight still not working but picture is there if you put a flashlight up to the TV. Sound works too, just depressing after shelling the cash it didn't fix the problem.

@@kevinsmith8175 yeah, it actually ended up being the logic/main board for me and I only figured that out after switching out the LEDs, t-con and power boards 😂

@@japroid thats awesome but from the prices I have seen for parts on ebay, it's still cheaper to repair it than buy a new one if you can do the repair yourself. I know I wouldn't buy another TCL if I have to buy one but if mine are backlighting that's out it's only a $36 dollar fix. Mine comes on and I took mine outside and I can see a picture faintly in the sunlight and even with a flashlight. "Sometimes" when I first try to turn it on it flashes a quick screens and goes black,other times nothing. And my protective plan I had on it sent me only $342 of what I paid for it. I know I can another one just like it for $100 more plus tax and if I want another protection plan. But I guess why not try and fix it for $40 and keep that money for something else I guess. If it fixes it I may order another set of the l.e.ds for a backup just in case they get harder to find after awhile. But you didn't waste your money on those backlights. Cause mine is only 2½ years old and went out. Now you should be set for awhile. Thanks for the heads up on the main board issue. Even those are fairly cheap about the same as the lights I think.

Try using the flashlight 🔦 and if you can see the tv logo with the light if definitely the led strips

You are correct they never do... it's usually just 1 led out of like 50 problem is they are wired such that if one fails TV's like nope... and shuts down whole thing...
