TCL Android TV Remote Not Working? Delayed or Slow Response or Unresponsive Buttons?

I give you 3 easy fixes on a where the remote controller is not working properly on a TCL Android TV (smart tv). Maybe the remote has a delay, is laggy or has slow response or some buttons (not all buttons) are unresponsive or other issues. The should only help about 50% of you. Hope this helps.

Correct information is given in this video. The on off button on my TV remote control was not responding. I also took out the battery. Tried all the buttons several times. And put the battery back then the remote is fine. Many thanks to the video maker for saving my time and money.👍🏻👍🏻😍

Ok that worked....specifically I replaced the batteries and then ( batteries in), just spammed all the buttons and It fixed all my issues with unresponsiveness. Cheers

I had the problem with the remote but I found a way around it. I hated the little remote that came with it anyway and I wanted a multi-device remote, I bought one called an All In One 5-Device. It has an Exit button. If the TV stops responding to some of the buttons then for me I can still get to the TV guide (I don't use the smart TV stuff so don't know if it works with the FreeTV EPG). All I have to do is go to the TV guide then press Exit, then all the buttons work again. No idea why. It sometimes takes 2 or 3 tries, rarely, but it will work. Hope this helps

Re-setting the remote control to the TV solved the problem for me. At least on my control, there is a reset button on the back which unpairs the control from the TV and pair it back again.

Just got this TV yesterday brand new and the response time is ridiculous. Thank god it was for free or I'd be really pissed. I'll have to try these tricks though there shouldn't be anything in my remote seeing as how I just unboxed the thing yesterday

My 55 inch p725 does something funny, every now and then the down arrow and OK buttons just won't work. Sometimes they come back by themselves in 10 or so seconds, sometimes not. Sometimes if I turn the TV off and on again that fixes it, but not always. The reason I'm sure it's not just the remote is because I have 2, the remote that came with the TV and a 3rd-party multi-device remote, and they both get the exact same problem, at the same time. I've also got a Bluetooth Logitech multi-device keyboard I can use as a remote; when the other 2 are doing this then at least the OK button (centre of the D-pad) on the Logitech K600 keyboard still works, but not the down arrow. I have had some success by using the multi device remote to switch to another device like the stereo, send a few codes to that like volume up and down, then back to the TV. Sometimes that works, sometimes not... but I think it's because what really happens is that the TV eventually fixes itself, or just starts responding again, by itself. I haven't tried resetting power yet, I'll do that, but if anyone has had this problem and found a fix I'd be interested to hear. Again, I believe it's the TV itself because all three remotes get the same problem at the same time.

@@alegameryt125 Yes, if I get stuck menu buttons, they start working again if I go to the channel guide, press exit, then OK. If I can use down arrow then it's fixed, occasionally I have to do it 2 or 3 times. Sometimes it happens lots then none for a day or two, but at least I found that. That's on the universal remote. I haven't nailed it down but I think it works on the TCL remote and bluetooth keyboard if you change channel, exit then press OK. But not always. Does not work if I use the internet EPG but if wifi is off there is a different program guide. If I enter that, exit then OK that fixes it, but not if WiFi is on and I go into the internet EPG. But I don't use the smart TV stuff anyway, it's either on free to air or it's just a monitor for my laptop. But I only get any menu problems in free to air mode anwyay

The tv is paired with with the old remote, what you gonna have to do is unpair the old remote and pair the new remote, to do this, there is a small black button behind the tv, to turn it on, then what you wanna do, connect a keyboard to one of the usb ports in the back, once that is done, navigate to setting and look for tv accessories, there you should see all bluetooth devices and the remote, unpair the old remote and then pair the new one, if the problem still persists then its probably a fake remote

Didn't work. My 55in TCL TV came with 2 remotes and both act the same. Sometimes they work and other times they will not for no apparent reason. Very frustrating especially since the only button on the TV itself is the on/off button.
