😮 OMG, thank you Soooooo so much. I just bought the tcl google tv yesterday. Got it all ready and placed it on the tv stand , plugged the tv in. This is a good deal Ryan. I am glad you posted this because I can imagine the frustration of people who are having to buy remote after remote only for them to not work, that would suck. This method is similar to resetting the PCM or ECM on a car where you unhook from a dedicated power source and turn the key over to let the boards run down power and reset.

This just solved my problem. I tried several things from TCL website and none worked and was just about to order a new remote when I came across this video by chance and reluctantly decided to watch it. Fast track 30 seconds and my remote is working again! Thank you!

I'm so glad to hear this! TCL called me and their tech support told me to do this. I also had ordered a new remote and of course I didn't need one and oddly the new remote needed this done to it as well to get it to work. Lol

This worked for my TCL Roku TV 55”. Remote suddenly stopped working and after your simple procedure, works perfectly. Tried re-pairing and this didn’t work. Downloaded the RokuTV iPhone app and that works, but not convenient for guests, lol. Then I found your video and all is good with the original remote. Many thanks!

That's strange. I've never heard of this working on a Roku remote. I have a 55" TCL p605 TV and the review has never locked up. Anyway, I'm glad my video helped you!

I'm so glad to hear this and I'm happy to hear this fixed yours as well. I bought a new remote thinking mine was broken and the new remote wouldn't work or pair either. TCL called me and the lady on the phone had me me do this trick. I couldn't find any information online for this so I thought I should make a quick video explaining how to do it because I knew others had to be in the same situation as me and at the very least it may save someone a phone call to TCL support and at the very worst it may prevent someone from wasting money on a new tv. Awesome, I had an issue where power on button didn't work so I always had to turn the TV on manually from the TV itself but your method fixed it.
