Every year, TCM says goodbye to those we lost, and tears appear in my eyes after the first viewing. It is phenomenal what the people at Turner Classic Movies are able to capture in under five minutes for the multitude of loss we who have appreciated the art of film feel each year. I feel I say this every year, but the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in their Oscar In Memoriam part of programming should take their cues from TCM.

There has never been an Oscar "In Memoriam" that captures the numbers and varieties of talent, both in front of and behind the camera, that "TCM Remembers" does exquisitely, impeccably and with such heartfelt respect. It is not just the loss that we feel, but the appreciation that wells up for the immense amount of talent that we witness and enjoy every time the lights fade, the images flicker -- and we are captivated once more.

TCM always does the perfect memorial. We lost so many in 2021. I miss Robert Osborne. I love the clips and they always pick the best music.

Seeing the silver screen stars in their prime is breathtaking. Inspires me to live a more full life. “Hero’s get remembered, but legends never die.” This should have been in there.

Great memorial. I turned 69 this year and lost many family and friends over the years. I miss them and getting closer to seeing them again....I remember watching many shows with them and the actors who passed. Thanks for the memories.

Thank you TCM for remembering those who were more remembered for their roles on TV, but who also appeared on the big screen as well, whether big or small. And also those who were behind the screen or camera.

As in brilliant fashion TMC pays tribute to the stars we have lost this year. Bravo! I do wish Cicely Tyson would have gotten the curtain call.

I think she means the final view in the tribute instead of Christopher Plummer.

A viewer from the Philippines. When I watch the full video, it's one of the best year-end compilations in #TCMRemembers after 2017 (the first one I've watched) and 2020, in terms of the concept and thr song choice. Why? It's modern. Kudos to TCM and the respective producers.

Thank you for remembering Marilyn Eastman (2:14). Not only did she act in the groundbreaking "Night of the Living Dead", she was also a make-up artist and assistant script writer.

Goodbye Tommy Kirk RIP. Knowing how you were treated by Disney and Hollywood brings a tear to my eyes. Your films will always be a mark of your talent and genius.

Just found these since the Oscars this week. This is how a tribute film is done.

The tribute ended with Christopher Plummer. I read his memoir "In Spite Of' a few years ago, and it read like a cozy chat with an old friend---thoughtful, engaging, and quite perceptive of the acting profession and its realities and blessings.
