I think she is underrated! Ginger could do anything: dance, sing, comedies,dramas... She was very talented.

People knew when she was approaching from a mile away.Such a true super star.Very modest not realising she was a KNOCK OUT!!!ALL ERA'S..One of the most attractive women on screen,still..I read newb fan's of entertainment genre compare her to these modern's.lol..Ginger didn't need to show her chest to be noticed. She could act, sing and best Fred Estaire at the art of toe-tickling!!!Total package to once again prove, giant's walked this Earth.

It is amazing that Ginger was not a trained dancer. It was all natural! She said, regarding Fred, "I don't think he liked always being paired with me but I was the only one at the studio that could do what he wanted."

Nah. That's her fudging it a bit. They'd dated in 1930, and I trust Lucille Ball, one of her good friends, when Lucy says Fred got frustrated with the women RKO was offering and he asked for Ginger - the studio had no idea she could dance. And yeah, not a trained dancer, but she and Fred were so good together, their magic transcended everything.

Though not the greatest dancer Fred ever worked with but certainly there was a great deal of magic and that is why we love movies.

She wanted RKO to accept her as a serious actress and campaigned for the role of Elizabeth I in Mary of Scotland. She even went so far as do a test in full make-up and costume. But RKO wanted no part of it and Florence Eldridge (wife of Frederic March, one of the stars of the fim) was cast.

I really like Ms. Rogers, and dig Louie Prima's tune done by Goodman's band. My only very tiny qualm with this is that I much prefer the "Live at Carnegie Hall" version. Gene Krupa's drum break is electrifying

She was not a star LONG before she worked with Astaire. GOLDDIGGERS OF 1933 & FLYING DOWN TO RIO were both made in 1933.
