Fun Fact: The interviewers are sick of listening to candidates speak about their families, grades and how strong you are in your domain. I personally just zone out in this phase of the interview. Pro tip: If you want a job, knowing little to moderate in your domain is more than enough. You get trained from the ground up. What you need to do, is STAND OUT! 0. If the interview is in person, always start with a FIRM handshake, ALWAYS! This is how you intrigue them, and wake them up from their previous boring interviews. 1. Introduce yourself not with family names, education, grades, etc. but with your personal attributes/ qualities/ strengths. etc. This way you won't be asked to speak of you strengths later on which is a tricky question since it almost always follows up with a rebuttal from the interviewer, and you wont' be experienced/ prepared enough to answer. 2. Don't speak on things such as Brand Name, Work-Life Balance, Good salary, Growth, Job Security, etc. as reasons to join. You're in college, you know nothing of these things. 3. Speak less on what motivates you to join the company (such as aforementioned points), and more on what you bring to the table and how you would be an asset to the company. 4. Speak firmly on your decision to work and develop your skills/ core knowledge and not on things such as higher studies, or leaving the company for a higher salary. They don't want to invest time and money on someone who's gonna leave them. 5. Every Fresher who applies to a company, for Heaven's sake just spend 5 mins on Wikipedia to to read through about them before the interview. Things such as recent mergers, news, top clients, accolades, current CEO, etc. And most importantly their Vision and what makes them stand out in the industry. 6. Speak in full sentences. (When I ask you if you're hungry, don't answer with "yes", answer with "yes I am, and I'd love to have lunch now"). Avoid using Umm, huh, ahhh, etc. Take time if you have to in between sentences, but don't be informal. This shows your professional etiquette while conversing. And no, you don't need to speak in 4 syllable words, just plain and simple English will suffice. 7. Finally, have at-least 2-3 questions for the Interviewer, things such as how easy/ difficult it'll be to both learn and deliver at the same time, on their opinion/ experience of working in said company, on what the company's expectations are from a trainee, etc. Ask questions that will always demand a positive answer, so the Interviewer ever so slightly sways to you side.

@@aimgod993 Much unlike your Public name, I've copied nothing young man. I work in Telecommunications and have experience across across Huawei, Airtel, Ericsson & NEC. I've been taking interviews for 8 years now. I only put forward what an interviewer expects from a potential candidate with no experience. There's little to nothing that one can be grilled on, so the only way one gauges a candidate is by soft skills, attitude & the ability to adapt, learn and apply. Try and be a little less pessimistic henceforth, it'll help you along. Cheers.

According to my personal experience, if an interviewer ask you tell me about yourself then don't go for such a long answer as she does in this video. Make it simple and short like near about 40 to 45 seconds and never tell about technical skills in your introduction unless or until interviewer asked from you. So what to tell in self introduction Your name , city, your current college, your field (like btech in cse), then your good qualities try to cover your good qualities in 2 to 3 lines and your one or two interest and that's it. Don't speak too much in this very first question as generally tell me something about your self is the first question to ask. Try to answer only those things which interviewer ask for and remember he/she is in no mood to listen this long answer from you. So choose your words wisely and be ready with this question. Well, it's according to my personal experience, I am just suggesting rest it's all upon an individual 😊

Yeah I too suggest u guys as same... Self intro means for example : it's like a trailer of movie not suppose to explain full movie in frst question itself.. So stir a curiosity to the interviewer with ur intro then he'll try to know few things about ur self detailed..So try this way... I have lot of experiences in this I have got up-to 5 offers in (On-campus) also few like TCS & Chola Ms in Off Campus interviews) & I got selected too...

As an Interviewer myself i would suggest focusing on your technical skills and project more in your introduction to make sure you want the interview to move the direction you want to. Instead of hobby try to showcase your passion for technology with an real life example as it would make the interviewer more interested.

@gamingandmusic9217
@gamingandmusic9217 3 жыл бұрын
Sir, it is not about that lady. She is doing good. But the interview that you showed us is not worth 7 LPA. so many students give tough interviews for as low as 3.6 LPA, which is the most common package that TCS offers. For that 3.6 LPA, they will ask "what are your strengths ?". This is the dumbest question because if that person had had so-called strengths, he would not have sit for 3.6 LPA. They will ask if you are interested in doing higher studies or not to make sure that the employee should not have an option of leaving the company. I am not saying that these things are wrong. The reason is, when the population is more, the number of graduates every year are more and the competition increases, It pushes the companies to ask these questions.

In TCS it's very different in various stages of the career band, obviously, for the freshers, it would be bulk recruitment. Here the need is whether the candidate would be able to grasp what the company has to offer and can he deliver at the pace which the company wants to extract, higher technical skills are definitely a plus. In TCS I feel it's more about what you can make of yourself rather than what company could mould you to, you have the freedom of moving within the teams and various tools and technologies, so its up to you as a candidate once you are in what you can make use off.

I am not an IT guy, I work in core electronics/electrical technical stuff, but damn!! this video took me back to my interview when I was a fresher. To be frank, now a days because of videos, internet, youtube etc. freshers have improved a lot. 6 years back when I gave an interview as a fresher, I was sweating like a pig lol. After few years in industry, lateral interviews are more about situational questions like, what will you do if you are not able to solve a problem within time, what will you do if one of your team member is not working efficiently, what will you do if your team member refuses to work, how will you manage a dispute within team, how will you handle cross functional team's dispute etc. If anyone is wondering whether technical questions are asked or not, answer is YES, but more based on your work, no one expects you to know mathematical formula or some theorem or how a transistor/MOSFET works, everyone is interested is the approach you will take. By the way, for all IT guys out there, handle a language as a tool, not as a measure of knowledge. Though I am not an IT guy, I can easily program in Python, VB.NET, C, C++ and somewhat in R for data science and statistics. Try to focus more on how cross functional team works, know the process, know a little about your project's resource management, financial structure of a company, know your payslip in depth etc. By the way, this video was a nice one, good interview questions, good answers by the candidate and I hope she got selected in TCS. All the best from an ex-TCS employee.

The interview was good but in the coding part about snakes and ladders I could simply suggest you some tips when he asked about the implementation of the game the first thing came to my mind was multidimensional array indicating numbers from 1 to 100. Then a variable for dice and function to roll a dice. Variable for player. Separate list of snakes and ladders which indicates which contains point in multidimensional array and indicates increment and decrement of the player. That's it.

Think we missed a very important point no? A number between 1 to 100 when choosing snake or ladder shouldn't be both..mutually exclusive events
@rehanansari8154
@rehanansari8154 2 жыл бұрын
@@chirantanmukherji640 Well it's not necessary we can have a same number for alt least one or two ladders, like in reality there are one or two points when we walk up the ladder immediately we are bitten by a snake. So its not necessary that we have all our snake and ladder points as mutually exclusive points. :)

For those who are here to prepare for their interviews, This long intro is not compulsory. If the interviewer has simply asked you to introduce yourself then you can talk about yourself and the current work which you are doing or your education qualification, that's it. No need to elongate it if don't have good points to add or you are not that confident about it.

Gauri as a fresher you really performed well in the interview. I would like to give you a piece advice as I am working in the industry for the past 16 years and in TCS last 5 yrs. Instead of giving you brand, job security and salary package. You can ,market yourself what you would bring to the table when you got selected that way u can win interviews. TCS growth will be recruiting the right people in right place not becoz of brand value and one more point job security and work life balance is only a myth and in my project I worked 14-16 hrs everyday during this lockdown period. so don't get trapped in this kind of things, If I would have been in your position I choose Startup becoz there only you can have opportunity to learn new technologies. Even today I am using in current job what I have learned in my early days. Wish you all the best Gauri

But you don't say that in a TCS interview. Basically, their main issue is why are people changing jobs, and obviously they will hire more people who prefer job security, so you have to market yourself according to the needs of the interview.

My friend was sitting next to me at around 2 meter distance with another interviewer. Anyway, this incident is from 2015. In the end, it doesn't matter much which organization you join at a fresher level. It is about what kind of work you do.

As a fresher, one should definitely work for a start-up for a few years if they really want to learn cutting-edge tech. But if you want to settle down, secure your job and work on the same old tech for years, go ahead.. join TCS/CTS etc.

I like her calmness and she doesn't seem too stressed about the interview. I dont think her English is extraordinary. Its evident that she was reciting memorized answers which is acceptable. But if someone decides to go after you then they will grill her on her intro asking for examples. To say that my technical answers made me lose an interview selection, you already gave them a hint that you know nothing. Not a good choice. Just say i think I got most answers correct but somehow my evaluation wasn't favorable for me.. may be something better is waiting for me

Maintain a separate HashMap Links which contains snakes and ladder references with each index for whom its possible. Create an object for every player with its position. Keep incrementing or decrementing its position index with dice roll. Upon reach dice role, check if landed index variable has a key present in links map. If that key is a snake, take execute its fall, if its a ladder, execute jump. Its not that hard!😄

It's easier to just create an array of the length of the board then put null values where there are no snakes or ladders And we are going to increase our index by calling random function so if we land on a index where the data in the array is null we'll do nothing other wise I'll just put the value of index where i want the index to go rather than putting null. This would save you the trouble of creating a hashmap and use a simpler data structure

@@chiragvashistha4452bro hashmap is much better in terms of time complexity and space complexity of log n in searching only where in array you consume more space ...

No for small board we can simply use a array because hashmaps are overkill for small values.
