Tim, thank you very much. It is indeed and an honor and pleasure to hear Joe tell life stories and share his fishing love, knowledge and expertise. I count myself amongst the very fortunate to have been in his presence to have conversation, take instruction from Joe at Kinzua Fly Fishing School, observe his enormous drive and joy to be on the water, and the reverence he gives to the fish he caught. You have done a great piece of work in putting the film together with Joe, capturing his love for the life he leads and the good he brings forward. Once again, thank you.

Tim thank you for this video! Reminds me of my grandpa telling me stories from the good old days of fly fishing! I could sit there all day and listen to every fishing story Joe has! If it wasn’t for that man fly fishing wouldn’t be what it is today!

Tim - Thanks so much for making this video. I have several of his books as well as a number of his videos. I once met him on the stream just below the Tylersville Fish Hatchery on Big Fishing Creek. I didn't realize who it was at the time, but later it dawned on me who I had just met. He had on his signature blue ball cap and was just a very nice and friendly man. I recall that he fished through an area I had just fished and proceeded to pull out fish after fish where I had just struggled to get a bite. I love how he was just like a little kid as he described his memories of Spring Creek on your video. He taught so many people how to fly fish over the years. What an impact he has made on our sport.

Well, at 94 years of age, it is essential to get Joe's stories and insight into the historical record. There were parts of this that I just cringed. Taking 54 brookies in a fishing contest- wild fish that we would all trade a body part to have right now in that stream. A different time, to be sure. I am going to be in that part of the world for seven to ten days starting on Memorial Day; a friend of mine will try to get me to go down that rabbit hole known as Euro Nymphing. Then we are going to the Beaverkill for another week to 10 days. Joe looks very good for a 94-year-old. He could no doubt walk me into the ground. I would love to spend a couple of days fishing with him.
