The Defender has been in storage for a just under a year. There will be some more videos of it coming as the bulkhead needs a bit of tlc. Plus I do have some van side, just can’t decide whether to fit them or not! 🤔

Don't understand: why do you have to change both cylinders when there is no leakage? The cylinder seals are still intact. Just bleed the system with new fluid as problem might be caused by dirty fluid or/and bubbles?

It was leaking out of the master cylinder, so needed replacing

How did you adjust the freeplay?

How did you "bled" the system up ?
@olliesgarage Жыл бұрын
Basically the same as you would do the brakes. I filled the reservoir, then cracked the bleed nipple off on the slave cylinder. I kept the nipple open until nice clean fluid was running out before tightening the nipple back up. I then got someone to pump and then hold the clutch peddle, I re opened the nipple to bleed any more air bubbles out. Repeated the pump and hold procedure a few times until I was sure there was no more air in the fluid. Obviously all the time keeping an eye on the fluid level in the reservoir.
