Thanks for this great review! I'm just now after all these years learning the details of this stuff, rather than just surface level assumptions, etc. I'm looking for a wifi survey app for Mac and/or iOS. Glad to see it's fast and easy to do a survey with a MacBook alone; seeing there isn't an iOS app to go along with the computer app at first put me off, but now I know it's no problemo... And seeing within your review the rather clunky, high value, detailed, small font interface of the app, I can see that using a mobile version would be no bueno, other than ease of collecting survey data points. Still I wish there was a paired mobile app tool. Thank you again!

Great video! I've had this app for a while, but finally understand how to use it properly... One question do you know what is the difference between Signal to Interference and Signal to Noise? My Signal strength is great as is the SNR, but the SIR looks very bad on the visualization. Interestingly, I'm not having any trouble with the wifi, just something I noticed on my survey after watching your video. Thanks for your thoughts.

It's not always that clear how SIR differs from SNR. www.netspotapp.com/help/signal-to-interference-ratio/ -- This page does give some information on the subject and it appears that rather than relating to an overall RF noise floor as in SNR, it relates specifically to noise caused by crosstalk and adjacent channels mixing and causing garbage. Sorry I can't be more specific.

Thank you for sharing this software. I need it to survey Wifi Access Points in a large depot building, so I need the survey version to be able to plot the map. Do you have any video to show how to physically go round with the app to detect and then map out the WAPs in the location?

i have the app on windows, and I can't see the signal to noise tab anywhere... how did you get that ? i have the enterprise version too.

I can't get my 'noise'. It is not shown in my Netspot and the Netspot help center said we can find it from the project configuration gear icon at the bottom left but I can't see the icon as well. Where can I get it?

Are you in 'Discover' mode or are you talking about a 'Survey'? If you are in 'Discover', right click / two finger click on the column names at the top to see if you can enable 'Noise' through here. The only other thing I can think is that your network adaptor doesn't provide this information. That's just a guess though. I wouldn't see any reason why it wouldn't, particularly if you're using a Mac.
