Tour de Fleece: Day 1! Let’s GO
* Plied up some random leftovers to free up my storage bobbins!
* A look at my Shetland x BFL fleece (Smallbird Workshop) and Polwarth dyed braid (Myrtle Yarns) and undyed Alpaca top (Myrtle Yarns) raw
* Stripping my drum carded batt of the ingredients above to prep for spinning
* Showing my prepped Cormo combed top dyed by A Lair Artifacts
* Showing the swatch and knitting plans for my batt
* Spinning long draw on my CPW - a double-drive Canadian Production Wheel (saxony style) that’s 100+ years old!

Team Stashdashers
For the 2nd year in a row I’m on Team Stashdashers, hosted by Melly Knits on Instagram. Melly is THE BEST, she hand processes wool fleece and cards up the most amazing batts. There are 300+ of us in the team this year and our only rule is to spin from our stash! #stashdashers

Tour de Fleece runs alongside the Tour de France, and it’s a 3 week period where us yarny spinners have fun spinning as much as we can! It’s definitely a sport but it’s all about having fun, sharing and learning.

Gosh those batts are beautiful! I love the depth and luster the blend added! I love spinning sweater quantities and love colour but don’t really wear super bright coloured sweaters. Also, my CPW looks nearly identical!! She’s also super chatty and the wheel wobbles a bit in almost the exact same way!!🥰
