I hear the higher player counts are accommodated by playing in teams so there are always two 'sides'. Can you discuss how this feels in practice? How independent can one faction player feel? Are there faction specific objectives? If you are playing a 6 player game, is it more like 3 players all coordinating the moves for each side? Thanks!

It's funny. I watched a lot of boardgaming youtubers english and german (my mothertongue) as well. But the person I trust most is you. I grew up with Shogun, HeroQuest and Axis and Allies. And for me, boardgames should in some extend be like that. I like rolling for 3 or less for a hit. I like dudes on a map. Therefore my favorite games (modern) are Root and Descent 2. Edition. But I am desperatly loooking for a "successor" of Axis and Allies. I know you suggested and liked Warroom, but it does not appeal to me at all. Neither the combat nor the chips. But THIS game... when you said that it reminds you of AaA and combat is exciting, you got me. Thanks man, keep up your work! Btw. I unfortunatly can not agree on Dune - War for Arrakis simply due to the fact, that it has action dice. This is so much of a turn off for me. I like dice in combat, where the outcome should thematically be unpredictable; but if I want to rekruit units, I want to recruit units and don't want a good dice roll for that. Thanks again and keep up the work!

If by solo, you mean playing both sides - I think so. Not really hidden information here. You can have a longer playing time for more players, but two player games move pretty quick. I'm not one to house rule stuff most of the time but our gaming group added some wargaming rules to this game and imo it's much improved with those additions...
@TheDiscriminatingGamer2 ай бұрын
Whatever works for you. I haven't found any major issues that needed to be house ruled.
@enjoythestruggle2 ай бұрын
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer We did enjoy the game without them. The house rules weren't a response to something that's broken and needs fixing. We introduced zocs, the ability for units to support combats in hexes adjacent to them and some flavorful things like heroes getting captured and potentially ransomed. The result was battle lines being formed and more careful positioning. It gave us a better feel of nations' armies facing off, rather than fights between individual units. An archer supporting a combat and breaking a tie with their ranged ability was particularly thematic.
