Thanks for the preview! I am *really* looking forward to this game, so I'm envious that you got to play it early. I agree that Duel of Ages and this game are tactical wargames. There have been so many skirmish games coming to the market over the last few years that this super-duper-uper skirmish game may make a splash. I hope so!

Truly a unique game. There is really nothing else like it that I am aware of. If the theme appeals to you then it would find a prominent place in any collection. And welcome to the Boise area Cody! I live here as well, and I hope that we can sit at the same gaming table sometime.

Thanks for talking about this, I was hoping to get a better idea of what was on Kickstarter, as I've never played Duel of Ages 1 or 2. The streamlined play is a big plus for me as most of my players don't go in for too much complexity.

I think it was a good idea for the name change from Duel of Ages to Worldspanner. Always been a great game.

There are no longer defined ages in the game, so we had no choice! :) But I really like the new name.

Love Dual of Ages 2 and the master set . Would you say worldspanner has enough differences to warrant owning both?. I notice many of the cards look very similar if not identical to dual of ages

Gameplay is swifter and more streamlined. Plus, there are a few new bells and whistles throughout like the different challenges on the faction keys.

What TDG said, plus you have a co-op/solo campaign for 1-4 players and then can play the regular game co-op/solo as well. Plus the ability to creator your own characters easily with a true-formatted printout.

Kinda feel I would had preferred they finished the last game. Don't know which parts would had been unsmooth there but yeah spacious maps and I guess it took some time to play. Don't know what this improves.

@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Thanks for the reply! I get what you’re saying. I guess I saw the similarity in that they’re both longer experience-type games, where it’s more about the stories than the mechanisms. Is there any game you’d compare this to, other than Duel of Ages I and II?

Unless it's a party game, simultaneous play or timed with a clock game I can't imagine how an 8 player game takes about as long as a 4 player. Maybe there's some special rule that addresses it that but I don't know if you mentioned it.

Allowance must be made for AP, but as I mentioned the teams can take their turn more or less simultaneously.

I know there is a solo mode, so I assume you could use that AI for a coop. Not 100% sure.

Factions Set 3 is the campaign, which is co-op for 1-4 players. The AI used in that campaign then lets you play the regular game co-op for 1-4 players.
