My 2012 sportwagen tdi starts slow occasionally when it’s cold; Maybe 2 extra seconds of cranking. Seems if there is a loss of prime. Its very sporadic though. Could be months between having issues. Ever heard of anything like this? Bone stock no deletes 80k miles

They also make a hydraulic kit for those. We ran a hydraulic deck height in the summer and the hydraulic ram on the plow for the winters. Maybe could be useful around the property. I bet it would pull a small scraper/grader nicely on some trails

How are the newer tdi’s reliability wise? Been really considering buying one, but they seem cheap and i was wondering if there was a reason why.? Are there any years to stay away from? Any issues to look out for outside of a normal vehicle?

I know the 2015 in the US is the only year with that engine. My fiancé and I had one and it seemed kind of difficult to find parts / a shop in the US who wanted to do any work on it. When we found a local "VW Specialist" they ended up destroying our DPF system and caused it to catch on fire completely messing up the rats nest of emission items. Honestly the car was pretty great but just find the most spotless example you can find. The P/O of ours definitely just drove it and didn't take care of it well. Regardless it was a 2015 with 170k miles and ran perfect.

Why delete EGR when it reduces in cylinder temps and runs cooler ?

EGR reduces economy, reintroduces soot and diesel particulates back into the motor and reduces power slightly. The benefits of deleting it far out way the benefits of keeping it. The minuscule reduction of Emissions aren't a concern

@@JackCecil but keeping EGR will run the engine cooler. Deleting EGR has the potential of cracking the cylinder head. It's not a a good idea to recycle shit into the intake but engineer's use it for good reasons 💯😇
