True, but to be fair, you have to be nuts to rock a visor in beer league. I'm not losing teeth because so guy can't control his stick, just not worth it at all.
@MrMitchywoo6 жыл бұрын
James Tait I honestly don’t know anyone who doesn’t wear a visor in beer league other than the young AAA kids still in the cage. I know it could happen but I think you’re over exaggerating how many times sticks hit you in the mouth lol plus good beer leagues like the ASHL have dental protection as long as you have a mouth guard in.
@jamaltatums6 жыл бұрын
@@MrMitchywoo I guess that's true, but it's still not worth it imo. You probably play at a higher level than me, but I've definitely taken an errant stick to the face a few times, my cage has saved me from a deflected puck more than once too. Even with dental protection, it just doesn't seem worth the risk in a casual league. Maybe it's a 1 in 100 chance, but I def don't wanna be in that 1%.
@MrMitchywoo6 жыл бұрын
James Tait oh believe me it’s happened, I’ve been hit in the face with pucks and sticks and it’s not a good feeling but I think the worst injury from equipment I’ve ever had honestly was a skate to the inside of my leg just in the sweet spot by the top of the shin pad and just under the pants where there’s no padding. Lots of stitches there, it’s a dangerous game honestly in a lot of aspects but it’s also the best one in the world haha 👍🏻

The last goal was simply body positioning and timing. Your decision making was right, but you came at it at the wrong angle. Instead of cutting right to the puck, you should’ve skated back a little bit more. This would’ve allowed you to have been able to put your body in a better position to separate 22 from the puck. Also, lunging for pucks isn’t the best way to do it as you can get burned very easily by doing that. The first goal was just a simple miscalculation, which happen to the very best of them. Just gotta make up for those in the next game. Good video none the less my man
@TDIHockey6 жыл бұрын
Very well explained man! I'm more upset about the last goal because my judgement was all off as you said. With 9 seconds left in the game, I should've just gone straight back to defend the rush and make him force a move to beat me 1 on 1 before the clock expired. Just a brain fart that I hopefully never make again 👍

"Just talk to me I'll play it". No, goalie.... it was your bad. You should be the one running the show back there. You should be the that yells out "I got it". Besides, it was right there. He should've played it anyway. The Center is the "quarterback" in the offensive zone the goalie is, in the defensive zone. Defense are the puppets of them. (Joking D men). That's how it works. And besides, you should be thinking "that puck can go in the net" no matter who has it and where it is. If I'm skating the puck around my net (I'm the captain and a center) and my goalie doesn't play the post as I skate by him, I'll tell him about it later. I've seen own goals in the NHL because a goalie doesn't think his own player can lose control of the puck there. Besides that, his legs were wide open when he knew a forward was coming in on the D and might end up with a shot on goal. I hate goalies that put everything on other people. I see it all the time in beer league. "If you weren't there I would've had it" "I had no D on that one" (both D standing right there) "you were screening me" "I thought you had it" "that ref is blind. I grabbed it. It didn't cross the line. It wasn't a goal". The best one I've heard (my old goalie) "you won the face-off the wrong way". I won it, their winger skated past the my winger, then past my D (all 3 missed the puck that I won back from a defensive off-sides face-off), the player grabs the puck as it's between my 2 D and goes in and scores. But forget everything else. I won the face-off the wrong way. LOL. My goalie now. "My bad guys". Me, "don't worry about it. Someone should've picked him up". In other words, you don't place blame and you always take it if you can. Never put it on the goalie (unless he's terrible and needs to hear some shit sometimes). Especially in game so he doesn't get into his own head but don't let him make you feel like you fucked up if you didn't. The guy did the right thing but the goalie was an ass.
@stormgaming3913 жыл бұрын
Good try man! Just missed him! Next time line up inside the blue line, forsure easier to either stay with the guy flying up the boards and easier to maybe cut off the puck instead of lining up behind the blue line, directly beaming at the puck and the player and missing him with all your momentum going the opposite direction.

Lol chances are you never played in the 1st place. I stopped playing hockey after hs because beer league had always seemed silly to me and I've played the game between 4th grade to 12th grade so it's not like it was easy to let go. The zero contact takes the fun out of it, 4v4 pond hockey is for when I come home during the winter months since my area is a frozen winter wonderland with about 3-4 giant lakes. I already have my state championship ring/memories. However some D bag would NEVER stop from playing this game if I still had it in me to strap up again. #16 is no different from the 100+ games that I played in throughout my childhood/teenager days that had the same types of people. Sounded like you never played though.
