I think it's more special that a lot of the food was strange/weird. Food festivals are meant to serve limited-time items you wouldn't otherwise be able to access other times of the year. It's a celebration of experimental potential.

FYI, brandy and chocolate is a common pairing; the only one I've had though is a Brandy Alexander - has brandy, dark creme de cacao, and heavy cream (with a sprinkle of nutmeg). so wintery while being a cold drink :)

They seriously sold Bugles as " corn chips" 😂. It seems like a lot of these foods are "exotic Western foods", that someone in America (like me) thinks, "that isn't that special". It just makes me think if that is what Asian people think when they go to food festivals in the West and they serve "exotic snacks from Asia" 😂😂

The English name of the item is a little deceiving; they are make with a snack called "Togari corn" which have been in Japan since 1978. They're quite popular with kids here as well, just like they are in North America :)

Thank you for watching! The current guidebook for 2024 has information on the Fantasy Springs Hotel and the new area. Including everything you need to know for getting into Fantasy Springs (arguably the most important piece of information). Once the area opens, we'll add in strategy after we've been able to test it in the field (which will be the 2025 version).

Honestly between Florida's and visiting Cali's the week before visiting, I was so burnt out on Food and Wine Fests when I went to DisneySea a few weeks ago lol. Loved it though. Already planning to go back.

Hi Chris, I have been watching your posts for some time and wanted to ask you about gluten free options at Disneyland and DisneySea? You eat a lot of amazing dishes and I feel I can’t eat a lot there.

There isn't anything that's labeled as gluten-free, it's not common in Japan. It's not easy, I wish I had a better answer for you. They have an allergen-free menu, but it's not extensive. The Tokyo Disney Resort website has an allergy website where you can search for dishes based on ingredients. fsp.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/p/info

My kids have food allergies and it xan be a challenge BUT you may have a slightly easier time than I did since you can opt for rice based stuff since it's gluten free for the most part, the bigger issue I'd think would be them using soy sauce over tamari or something like that. My kids are dairy allergic and it's in everything

Seems overall like a mixed bag with the tastiness of the festival offerings. I adore the event out here at California Adventure, so I hope the event does well at Tokyo Disney and it can improve food and merch wise! I think it would be cool if the stalls were more international or had stronger themes with their offerings, but who knows how that’d go over in Japan. Thanks for the thorough review Chris!

@@tdrexplorer Halo-halo means "mixed" in English and it's crushed ice mixed with a bunch of stuff. There's no set recipe but there are some common ingredients. Sweet potato is one, yam, tapioca pearls, plaintains, flan, some add ube ice cream, beans, agar jelly, jackfruit, etc. HAHA it's a lot 😅 Also hi, didn't think you'd notice my comment. I love your channel! 😄

Hmmm. Looks pretty disappointing with small portions and high prices. Went to one at CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE in LA and the food was so on point! Since I live in Tokyo I will totally skip this.

I wouldn't go specifically for all these items, maybe try one for something different (especially if you're able to visit more frequently). You can tell this is their first one, so if they decide to do it again I hope they improve the food offerings. Thank you for watching!
