it is certain 2003 fanatics that just go around disliking anything to do with the original, because they consider it bad and outdated and they saw the 2003 one first so they consider that one the golden one. I'm not saying all the remake fans are like that, but certain ones i've come across over the years, they are a nasty bunch, I don't know why they can't just like both? I grew up with the 1974 one, and thought the remake was an OK horror movie, but I'm not going to attack people over it.

They look like the "kit" sheds/cabins you can get at places like Home Depot or Lowes. Which is not a "bad thing" at all; they tend to be well thought out and are made out of wood framing with that sort of plastic "fake wood" for the sheathing/siding/railings. That stuff is indestructible and will last forever with a little maintenance. Looks like the guy put a lot of thought and work into creating the place, it's a very good job!!

"The Saw is Family" chainsaw is from part 3 "Leatherface"... RA Mihailoff carried it as "Leatherface". And he use to carry it around to his public appearances. I was his chauffeur when I worked at a limo service and gave him free limo service every year at around Halloween.

What a clever use of the property!!! I bet the got it for a song, too. Looks like the cabins and "accessory" structures are fairly new, I'd guess he hasn't been in business all that long. Here's hoping he will be a resounding success - road side BBQ in TX is pretty common, and one usually needs a "hook" to get enough customers to be successful. Sounds like this guy has the perfect hook... or saw... whatever...

Great video! The original Texas Chainsaw murders were reportedly in Lazar Texas (just 15 miles South of Childress, Texas west of highway 287, at the Kirkland train switch. I went there back in the early 1990's after doing a little research. It's a (real) ghost town where only 3 bldg.'s still exist. 1 is the post office, the other was a barn where there was a store and gas pumps (where they sold BBQ as well) and the other is a small brick bldg. The small brick bldg. is at the crossroads of the county lines. There are many farms around there that are still farming the fields, and a very spooky (errie) feeling in the air, no joke. I was able to get some pictures and then had the overwhelming feeling that I had better leave while I still could. I also went into Childress and asked around about the story of what supposedly happened out in Lazar and almost no one wanted to talk about it. I did get the older Lady at the Museum to give us some info, but the old Man who ran the newspaper didn't want to discuss it. I did find it interesting though, that the local movie (VHS) rental store was completely OUT of the movie. They say that they can't keep it in stock, because people steal it..... interesting. Things that make you go 'hmmmmm.'
