The wires on the road count the number of cars, for traffic studies
@alien_industries3803
@alien_industries3803 7 жыл бұрын
not only counting but also the length of vehicle and its speed
@Averyindex0
@Averyindex0 7 жыл бұрын
You actually want to hit those wires on the road as fast as you can. They are required to set the speed limits based on the traffic studies. You can get out of speeding tickets if a traffic study hasn't been performed and the speed limit set based on the study. FYI

The studies can be used for things like whether or not a traffic light or stop sign is needed.

Adam, I am currently serving as Treasurer of my lodge. The stage is the "East" and that is where the Master of the Lodge (president) sits. The Secretary and Treasurer will sit on either side of him and that is how they conduct business meetings and initiations of new members. Other officers would sit around the lodge room in specific places. All of it has symbolic significance in the organization.

So thank you so much for going here!! I am sending Link to my dad who hopefully can watch as well, he has been there several times. My Grandfather was a WW2 vet , he worked in the coal mines and also was a Engineer on the railroad but I don't know which one, so thank you a million times !!!! "Take Me Home, Country Roads" Almost heaven, West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River. Life is old there, older than the trees, younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze. Country roads, take me home to the place I belong. West Virginia, mountain mamma, take me home, country roads. All my memories gather round her, miner's lady, stranger to blue water. Dark and dusty, painted on the sky, misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye. Country roads, take me home to the place I belong. West Virginia, mountain mamma, take me home, country roads. I hear her voice in the morning hour, she calls me, the radio reminds me of my home far away. And driving down the road I get a feeling that I should have been home yesterday, yesterday. Country roads, take me home to the place I belong. West Virginia, mountain mamma, take me home, country roads. Country roads, take me home to the place I belong. West Virginia, mountain mamma, take me home, country roads Take me home now, country roads, Take me home now, country roads. John Denver

Adam if you ever get a chance, this is where my grandfather was born and raised. His father, my great grandfather, was the most influential doctor in the town. They actually named the hospital after him, it has since changed but it used to be called the, "Emmett memorial hospital". Anyways his estate is a gorgeous old plantation home and has been turned into a B&B called, "Hillcrest" it's very ritzy and if you ever wanted to stay there for a night you should and I'll give them a heads up. I may be able to get you a night for free.

It is wonderful the way they are renovating that old theater nothing wrong in keeping the beauty & charm of days gone by. That dark room took me back! , our local theater had one of those back when I was a kid. Amazing the number of stars that visited the place & some very well known ones too. Would have loved to have seen Trigger come down the aisle & up on to the stage! Those stars back then were all class!

Adam, that "dark room" exit is how most UK theatres are built. They don't have a straight out exit/entrance so you never flood the theatre with light at anytime (excepting for fire door only exits which go directly to the street)

Adam, the "speed trap" is actually a traffic counter. It works the way the old bells at the gas station worked. Driving over them, increases the air pressure momentarily in the hose and advances the counter. They are used by municipalities and other governments to assist with budgeting and maintenance for roads.

If you get a chance to come to Detroit, you should check out our Masonic Temple. It is the largest in the world. I have seen many awesome Broadway touring shows there. Back in the 90's my sister & I saw The Who's Tommy. When we went to the restroom at intermission we got lost going back to our seats & ended up in another function with some not so happy Mason's that 2 teenaged girls somehow just stumbled into their festivities lol. That place is massive! But it is gorgeous! And the lower level is the home of Detroit Roller Derby lol.

If you like old theaters, you should definitely check out the Colonial Theater in Phoenixville PA during Blobfest. This was the theater used in the famous scene at the end of the movie, where the blob comes out of the projector room, into the audience. They celebrate this once a year with a festival, and they even have a driving tour brochure of all of the filming sites in the area. They run the film, and have other "B" rated Sci-Fi films during the festival, and a "run-out", where the audience runs into the street, recreating the scene from the movie. There is music, celebrities (they had the B9 robot and "Judy" from Lost in Space) and a costume contest in addition to the street fair. The town is a stones-throw from Valley Forge, and we had a great time!

That mechanism with the two tubes running across the street? That measures the automobile traffic that goes up and down the street. I think these are used to decipher whether or not traffic signals are needed. It counts every car that drives over the tubes.
