Most amazing of all was Eydie's ability to sing live, flawlessly, while balancing herself on that scary moving piano. Even if the number was carefully rehearsed, it's a thrill to watch.

Gorme made a wonderful recording of Tea for Two. Loved hearing her sing it here and seeing her sitting on the piano. She was classy and at the same time an irresistible cutie too. Ed and Eydie made a great team.

Ed Wynn was such a brilliant comedian. He would die 2 years after this performance. He made it appear almost as if he threw those jokes in and asked the orchestra to play for him off-the-cuff, but the set-up where he doesn't play the piano and instead lets the orchestra play was what he always did. This time his performance was much better than in the 1962 Disneyland Golden Horseshoe Revue. He was himself a very talented pianist, and before he became a comedy star he made his money playing the piano. It's obvious he had Parkinson's in his old age, so I wonder if he was too old and shaky to actually play the piano anymore, and it was a cleverly disguised with this bit, or if he had to hold on to the handlebars to steer the bike and would never have played during this act? I guess we'll never know, as his earlier performances weren't recorded.

I don’t think that OSHA would allow that piano setup with someone sitting on it these days!
